Big Taste — Restaurant in San Pedro Town

Best food of the trip!

This was honestly our best food we had on our recent family trip to San Pedro, Belize. Sadly, we found Big Taste for lunch the second to last day of our trip, but we went back again the next night for our last meal. We are huge taco fans, so we eat A LOT of tacos. The carne asada, carnitas, and pibil tacos were the BEST we have had, I mean seriously, the best we have EVER had.

This small, local-owned restaurant has a cute patio space and the fillings for the day are listed on the chalkboard when you walk in to order. You can choose from tacos, tortas, or quesadillas. The cost was so reasonable for an order that included 4 tacos... and they take credit cards if you are running low on cash!

The tacos came on a doubled, homemade, fresh corn tortilla and were served with two amazing homemade salsas to choose from and a plate of fresh limes, a cilantro and onion mix, a chimichurri sauce (that was crazy amazing), and awesome, fresh pico de gallo. You can make those tacos exactly how you want them!

Serious, this is a must visit! This will be the first place we hit on our next dive trip...

This absolutely exceptional taco venue is, by far, the best in San Pedro. Family owned and operated - they pride themselves on authentic and “home made” flavors that are distinctively flavorful. We were treated to pibil, birria, chicken, and house special tacos that set a new standard for Mexican cuisine in Ambergris Caye. The pibil has a complex array of spices that complement the tender pork, but the birria is what steals the show. Crispy corn tortilla stuffed with delicately stewed beef in a myriad of Mayan spices that leaves you craving more. If that wasn’t enough - the margaritas are phenomenal - fresh pressed lime juice, light on the sweetener, and a generous shot of tequila blanco. Big Taste is one of the “must try” best restaurants...

During our stay in San Pedro, Belize, my girlfriend and I had the delightful experience of dining at Big Taste, a restaurant that truly lived up to its name. The highlight of our visit was the authentic Belizean cuisine, which offered an unrivaled exploration of the local culinary traditions. Each dish served was a masterful display of flavor and tradition, making every bite a memorable experience.

Moreover, the value at Big Taste was exceptional. The pricing was surprisingly affordable, allowing us to enjoy a variety of traditional dishes without any concern about the cost.
