Dee N D's Waterside Grill — Restaurant in South Caye Caulker

You have to stop in here. Best dinner on the island! Wow, we had seen good reviews but they blew us away! We decided on Dee N D's based on the water view and in hopes of a nice sunset. The sunset was a little lackluster due to clouds but the food and atmosphere made up for it. My wife and I visited with another couple. We each ordered something different - whole snapper, pork chops, chicken, and shrimp skewers. Everyone raved about the food. We could see our food being grilled adjacent to the beach seating and even spoke with the grillmaster for a few minutes. He was great and gave us some good tips. the gentleman that took our orders and checked in with us was wonderful. We chatted with him a few times over the hour or so we were there. He was extremely humble despite our appreciation for the food and service. The prices were reasonable, really they are low for the quality of food. Best dinner on Caye Caulker, especially if looking for the perfect sunset. Started off with happy hour Rum Punches sitting on the dock with our feet in the water. They brought our drinks and a beautifully done jerk and butter grilled shrimp kabob right to us. After the sun set, we moved to a picnic table and ordered grilled snapper, seasoned with Jerk, and a shrimp coconut curry. Both were very fresh, and delicious. The curry was with a well thought-out blend of fresh vegetables, and they were well cooked. Everything on the island comes with some sort of rice and beans, and usually coleslaw too. The sides here were worth eating, which isn't universally true. They earned a 5 star rating.

P.S. after reading a few other reviews, I have two pieces of advice. Don't assume everyone takes card payments on Caye Caulker. Many do, and simply asking before you sit down is a good idea if you don't have cash to cover the meal. Also quick service is the exception not the rule there. I mean, the island's motto is...

Delicious place.

Chefs very skilled to cook the lobster to its perfection. They have a contagious sympathy.

The lobster taste is sensational.

The first times we opted for the regular size and the other times we got the biggest ones. I would recommend the bigger ones, because you will want more and more.

The lobster with the wonderful lemon and butter sauce is really worth tasting. We loved it!

Tip 1: Ask him to loosen the lobster meat a little bit, which makes everything easier and more delicious.

Tip 2: Ask him to pour a little lobster sauce over the rice to make it even more delicious
