Lobster Pot & Boat House Bar — Restaurant in Main Island

Tried the fried shrimp main as an appetizer, lobster bisque, and 11/4 lb main lobster prepared in a thermidor style. My wife had the lunch special which included the lobster bisque, a small piece of snapper with vegitables and desert. Overall service was attentive and good. The fried shrimp were as expected and good. The lobster bisque was just ok and lacking a good amount of lobster. Presentation was mediocre to bad and overall was iffy for a place that focuses on lobster.

The lobster thermidor was a few pieces of lobster prepared in a separate dish and looked more like a lobster dip than an exquisite main. The lobster was over cooked and chewy and serviing size was clearly not what was ordered. The wife’s lunch special was decent, but the fish portion was pretty small. We got to the restaurant at 5:30pm, got seated around 5:40pm and then they took our orders around 6:00pm. At 8:30pm we finally got our food. Two hours and thirty minutes to get our food!!! They also forgot one of my friends appetizers, a salad. Food was okay, but portions were small and overpriced. When we went to talk to the manager, he said we had taken too long to order our food. The manager was very unapologetic and blamed us for the length of time it took for us to get our food. How does taking 15-20 minutes to order food equal waiting two hours and half for your food to be served?

Also, the restaurant was not even packed, several people that arrived after us got there food before us.

During a recent fabulous trip to Bermuda, The Lobster Pot was recommended by someone. Sadly, we never tasted the food. When our party of 10 arrived, tired and hungry after a day of sight-seeing, we were greeted by a less than pleasant silver haired woman who made it clear that we were an inconvenience, as we had no reservations. After she did set up tables to accommodate us, her sour demeanor and comment "There ya go!", helped us make a decision to not dine in this establishment. We walked a few blocks to a competitor who was more than happy to accommodate us, the food was fabulous and the staff incredibly fun and friendly. Our check, excluding gratuity, was over $450.00.
