Domaća Kuhinja — Restaurant in City of Sarajevo

I had my first meal in Sarajevo here and I couldn't've picked a better spot. This is a small family owned restaurant which primarily caters to locals who want a tasty and quick lunch. The venue is quite small so during lunch hours it might be hard to find a table but many locals seemed to do take-away as well.

A variety of traditional Bosnian dishes were available and the staff explained all the dishes to me in English and gave me their recommendations. I had the begova corba with bread and hadzijski kebab - both tasted amazing and the portion sizes were great (and trust me - I'm a big eater). Prices were very fair and the staff were keen on making me feel at home - making some small talk about this being my first time in Bosnia. This little restaurant is such a fantastic place full of character. The food is the best! You have to try "ustipci," like grandmas cooking. Home made and it's absolutely delicious. Everything that we have tried was made with love and passion. The service that all of them provide was excellent, professional and always with the big smiles. Extremely friendly and kind, hard working team. At the end of our 6 day stay in Sarajevo I had to come and thank Suada by giving her a big hug for being such a lovely person.
