Maré Comida com Vida - Noronha — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata do Recife

We ordered a dish (can’t remember the name) of which the main ingredient was crispy salmon skin. As well as that, other ingredients were crisps/potato chips, rice, salmon, cream cheese and avocado.

The dish arrives and the waiter says, “we’re sorry but we didn’t have any salmon skin so weave given you extra crisps and some shredded gherkin”

Firstly, if you don’t have the main ingredient, tell your customers that before you go ahead and make the dish! It’s like if I was to order a burger and then it gets served and they were like “we’re really sorry but we didn’t have any beef so we’ve given you an extra tomato”

Secondly, neither my partner or I even like gherkin! Again, check with your customers, don’t just assume! We were starving, so we ended up eating what we could

Thirdly, it wasn’t until we were half way through the meal when I realised there wasn’t any avocado either…when we asked they replied “ah yes, sorry, we didn’t have any avocado either…”

Seriously?!

Oh, and they had a power cut right as they served our dishes which meant we were eating whilst holding our phones torch over the plate…you...

Maré deserves 10 stars. They have many vegan food options and the food is simply delicious, fresh, healthy and all dishes are beautifully set up. We went to eat there 3 times during our 4-day stay on Noronha. Service is also great and very customer oriented. I don’t prefer shimeji that’s part of the vegan bowl and they were very flexible substituting it for pickled cabbage which I loved. The only thing that would make it even more perfect would be fried Tofu in their dishes, but I guess it’s difficult to import...

With no doubt one of the best places for food on the island. The poke bowl is very good. We misunderstood the menu and by mistake unselected ingredients when ordering (as we don't speak Portuguese we actually thought we are selecting them). Fortunately the staff realized that we ordered in the wrong way and they gave us all ingredients that we wanted. The poke bowl was delicious and the service very nice. The hibiscus & maracuja drink is soo good...
