Bar do David - Filial Copacabana — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata do Rio de Janeiro

I agree with one of the previous reviews regarding service.

I’ve been to rio a number of times and wouldn’t go to the original Bar Do David in the flavela and always loved it. Especially how caring the owner was.

I had seen a new location had opened and of course due to the pandemics I haven’t been able to visit rio but when I was able to I made sure to stop in the new location.

There were two servers and for the first part I was just simply ignored. I had to get their attention just to get a menu.

After a minute another server came and asked what I wanted and I said I need a minute. She simply said no and wouldn’t go away. She keep pointing to items and I said ok one minute - in Portuguese - and she again said no.

The other server came over and I asked I just need a minute to go through the menu - I gave up and said I’ll come another time and she said yeah would be better. So I left.

I did come back because the seafood salad is worth it .

It is a small pub around a corner, customers bring sound boxes making a lot of noise up to late hours. It is a total disrespect with people living in the buildings around. Locals are getting sick, sleeping 3 hours a day because of so much noise. The mayor of the city does not listen to the people, he is well connected with the syndicate of bars and big brewery companies. People just stay under a residential building with loud music up to 5:00 in the morning. This is the meaning of "Bringing the "Slum" to the world". In Slums there are no security and criminals do whatever they want. Now it is arriving to the main streets of the city because our politicians are sold for big money. I can't see myself drinking a beer in a place where someone is suffering trying to sleep to work or study next day, it's like I'm torturing someone. Food is really good, we were served fast, but the service needs a lot of work, felt very desorganized, took 1h to get 2 cocktails after asking twice to confirm if they were working on them until one waiter apologised and told us that it was missed in the order, and still had to wait 30min for them (we both spoke Portuguese so there was no miscommunication) .
