Boteco Pasteur — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata do Rio de Janeiro

Was here in late February. They didn't have my first choice of beer - the server seemed genuinely sheepish about it - but the one I ended up choosing was perfectly fine. Crisp, and nice and COLD.

I ordered the liver and was pleasantly surprised. Great texture, great flavour.

Server was very attentive throughout our time there.

The only downside I experienced, was when I asked for hot sauce. I get the feeling it's something that doesn't get requested very often here. I was brought some hot peppers in what I believe was an oil-based sauce, which is perfectly fine - it just didn't taste all that 'fresh'.

Would I return? Absolutely! It's great value...

Full of locals so knew I was in for a treat - simply outstanding food and at incredibly low prices too. Great location for food before/after visiting Sugar Loaf mountain - highly recommend. In particular, the jerk beef with kale/rice/black beans and the freshly squeezed...

The waiter was so nice. Everyone was a local who came by to watch a football match. Loved that atmosphere over fancy dining with a bunch of European tourists. Not to mention...
