This is a charming little cafe located inside a still active however for touristic purposes military fort in Copacabana beach area.

This cafe is inside the fort so you cannot drive in there unless you are permanent party, visitors have to pay for admission to get into the fort.

The fort has a museum and some amazing views to enjoy, as well as some places to buy some momentos from the trip but once you are done doing that sit at the cafe.

The best tables are the ones right by the water with an amazing view of the Copacabana beach, overlooking the water and the most beautiful post card view.

Just for the place and view it is worth the trip here.

The service is not the best, but here in Brazil the tip is included in the bill so service all around town is not the best, specially if you come from a town like NYC you will notice the difference right away.

BRAZILIAN WAY- I got this drink that was a mix of cachaca and fruity juices like passion fruit and such. the drink for me personally was a very sour drink, but most people when dealing with passionfruit are fans of that kind of experience, so if you are one of the people who like that tangy punch, this drink is for you. remember to keep your straw off the cup while not drinking, the straws in Brazil now are paper straws and they will get all saggy and sad if left in the drink for a long time.

INCRIVEL BOLO GELADO DE COCO- this is a cold coconut cake that comes with a sauce on the side, the sauce is warm and makes a bit of change on the experience of the cake, the cake was indeed pretty incredible just like said on its name, it is definitely worth the try if you come here for a dessert.

The coffe here is pretty. good too, I did have any but my friends did and they were pretty amazed.

Again, the service is not the best, we did wait a long time after the food and drinks came to get ahold of the waiter for our check, it seems like that in Brazil the wait staff will not be coming back to your table once all meal is been served, you need to wave them over after meals are served, I am not quite sure why.

Just for the view this is a worth while...

Café 18 do Forte exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed not only by the beautiful setting but also by the warm and attentive service. The location is absolutely unique – right by the ocean, offering one of the best views of Copacabana you could possibly imagine. Sitting at a table with the sea just a few meters away, enjoying the breeze and the sound of the waves while being served fresh, delicious food, made the entire experience unforgettable. The dishes were beautifully presented and tasted even better than they looked. Everything I ordered was full of flavor and freshness – from the starters to the main course, each bite felt thoughtfully prepared with high-quality ingredients. The salad was crisp and refreshing, the fish perfectly grilled, and the pairing with local beer was spot on. What really made it stand out, apart from the food, was the relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. It’s a place where you can take your time, enjoy every moment, and simply let the scenery do its magic. I can honestly say this was one of the most enjoyable meals I’ve had in Rio. Highly recommended for anyone looking for both amazing food and a...

My girlfriend and I were traveling to Rio de Janeiro for the first time and were really looking forward to the Sunday brunch. We invesigated the night before and the food looked amazing. However, when we got to the restaurant we were put on a waitlist for one hour. When we finally sat down we were surprised at the fact that the waiter said the restaurant wasnt serving brunch despite the fact that the waiters and waitress were CLEARLY serving other customers. As a result, we had to order from the menu. My girlfriend ordered a Caesar Crocante but it was basically just lettuce. When my food which was the Picadinho 021 Legitimamente carioca arrived it was extremely below standard for the price of the dish. At the end of the meal, I paid the expensive bill which didn't include the service fee since we didn't feel obligated to pay since it was an extremely poor meal and it ruined our day. It was a nightmare and we still remember the experience. PS: the owner isn't accepting the constructive criticism I have provided which is a shame and pity. That's extremely...

Best view for a brunch in Rio! Most people who stop by the fort end up going to Colombo because it’s more famous, but they should consider coming here instead. Not only do you get a spectacular view of Copacabana beach and the sea, you also get amazing food. They have a complete brunch menu called Cafe do Forte which include savory and sweet items, as well as a hot beverage of choice. Breads, cheese, eggs with bacon, cakes, yogurt and sweet treats make for a very good way to start the day indeed! We were served by Felipe, a very nice young man who did an great job. Tip for visitors: you have to go inside the Copacabana fort, which costs 6 reais per person as of June 2022, CASH ONLY. You can avoid the entrance fee on Tuesdays.
