This was our favorite place to eat in Rio. We ate here every day for breakfast. We woke up every morning looking forward to this breakfast and arrived everyday as soon as it opened to the point that they already knew our order by heart. I was addicted. First of all the staff is amazing and friendly. The lady with the blonde hair, don't know her name, but she was just the sweetest! Now let's get to the breakfast. For the equivalent of $20USD we ordered the breakfast for two (para dois). So much food and so good! You get two glasses of fresh juice (we had orange juice), two cafe con leite, a basket of various breads including baguette, whole grain bread, cheese bread and two crispy and buttery croissants, fresh fruit (we had the half papaya- so good), scrambled eggs, a platter with sliced cheeses and meats, butter, strawberry jam and two slices of moist cake (our favorite was the carrot but the lemon and marble were also amazing). We tried hard to finish everything but it was impossible, so much food! The cafe is really cute with outdoor seating. Credit cards are accepted. I loved this place!

Really nice cafe. They sales fresh pastry products. The shrimp pie and apple pastry were very good. They reheated them before serving. Unfortunately they don't have lactose free milks so I didn't order a latte, but they do have decaf coffee and teas. I heard one worker froth milk and it was wrong so not sure how good the latte would have been anyhow. But overall really delicious bailar or brunch spot since they close early and can even get fresh bread here.

I went to Panadero for the breakfast. Everything I had was good. Scrambled eggs, watermelon juice, coffee, omelette, oh and the best part the natas. You have to try the natas! Delicious! Restrooms are very small and not so nice but they do the work. The location is good. Near the beach but away from the traffic and Main Street. The service was good and they’re friendly and respectful.

I have been coming here for years, on and off, as it is very close to my apartment and the breakfasts are very good. It’s a pleasant looking little bakery shop with good breads, pastries, cheese, cold meats, juice and coffee. The downside is the attitude and laziness of some of the staff and the long time it takes to be served.

For example, I went there with a friend this morning around 10:30 and we sat at a table on the outside patio. We waited for 15 mins without anyone coming out to acknowledge us or give us menus (or any of the other customers who were sat outside). My friend went inside and said four waitresses were standing around chatting to each other. He went to pick up a menu and one of the waitresses snatched them up to prevent him taking any. She gave him a dirty look and started to walk away with them. My friend asked if he could have a menu as two of us were sitting outside and she hesitated before reluctantly giving him one. He had the impression she was angry because we did not wait to be brought a menu (even though we had already waited 15 mins).

He came back outside with the menu but we waited another 10 mins or so without anyone coming out to take our order. I caught the eye of a waitress through the window and waved for attention and she slowly came out to take our order. We were friendly and tried joking with her but she was very unfriendly and replied with curt yes or no answers. My friend told me it was the same waitress that snatched the menus from him and she was clearly still annoyed at us. Our order was brought out in a reasonable time but there was no return of smiles or replies to our “thank you”s. Another waitress brought out part of our order but the food was dropped on the table unceremoniously and without comment or acknowledgement.

This is just an example of one of many visits here but it illustrates the poor service you will receive here on 8 out of 10 visits. It costs nothing for staff to welcome you with a smile and an hello and would make such a difference to the customer experience.

I am sad to leave only two stars because I really like the food and the premises but the time taken to be served and the unfriendly and unhelpful attitude of staff make it an unpleasant and unenjoyable...

I wish my review was positive about this place but after 2 tries this week 2 stars is all I am giving them and that is because when I visit 3 years ago and everything was good . Not this time around. I wish I could review the food but it never got to my table when today March 30st 2025 tried to have breakfast. My order was a coffee and a banana pastry that was displayed inside the glass counter . After 20 minutes wait did not get to my table . I called a server to my table but was ignored , another server approached my table re take my order which again did not get to my table after another 10 minutes wait . It was the when I decided to leave the place frustrated , disappointed and hungry. I do not recommend Panadero due to the horrendous service by the staff. My experience on Wednesday March 26th wasn’t...
