We are celebrating our Anniversary and we carefully choose a restaurant to have an amazing night however the experience we had in this restaurant is completely unpleasant. First, they are unresponsive in their Social Media Accounts, I have to ask my Brazillian Boyfriend to message them in Whatsapp and yet they took so much time to reply and do not reply on all the inquiries we had. We asked for a reservation in the rooftop with the view advertised in Instagram and they confirmed it that it will be available but when we got there the pool chairs are all over and people are in their bathrobes that kinda ruin the vibe. We also asked if the menu for Restaurant week is available but no response on WA and they asked us to go down as it is not available on the roof top. When we got downstairs, we are the second couple they had and we told them we are celebrating our anniversary and yet no personalize service were made. The food and service procedure was not followed properly considering it is a high end restaurant as we had bread for starters and a sandwich for appetizer??? They made a mistake serving our dessert. The oysters and bread were still on the table when they serve the dessert. Food were being removed from the table without even asking if we are done with it. Concerns were raised and the somelier handled it properly. However our night is already ruined and it is sad that if from the beginning they are responsive and setting proper expectation, we won't waste one of the nights of...
Read moreI had the 5 course tasting menu. While one of the better meals I had during my visit to Rio, there is room for improvement if Emile wants to earn a Michelin star. The atmosphere was amazing; the space was comfortable, the noise level perfect and the living wall was amazing. The food was mixed. The slow-cooked egg appetizer was spectacular with ideal complexity and variety of flavors. The salmon appetizer was okay but the delicate fruity flavors (cachaça, fig, orange) lacked punch. The main course filet was perfectly cooked medium rare, the sauce was rich and the Gorgonzola mashed potatoes were pleasantly mild. Still, the entree felt a little boring. I was most disappointed in the seafood tagliatelle recommended by my server. One large prawn, two sad looking smaller shrimp and the caviar was absent. The sauce was flat and watery. I didn’t finish the entree and informed my server of my concern, being told (graciously) it would be passed along to the chef. There was no offer to substitute or replace the dish, which would be my expectation of a Michelin level restaurant. Service was otherwise very good, with nice explanations of the dishes and...
Read moreThis is a beautiful restaurant with tasty, carefully presented food and service that is on the same level as a good restaurant in France (for those not living in France or unfamiliar with refined service, that means it's excellent). Prices are high for Brazil, but low by international standards. Especially for a restaurant in luxury hotel. The night we had dinner, there was a special offer of a three course menu for R$90. On the advice of our server (un grand merci à Rodolfo pour une soirée formidable), we opted for the three course tasting menu at R$153. There's also an option of a four course menu at R$200 or a five course menu at R$240. As we had scallops for the starter and beef for the main course, we opted for wine by the glass. Prices are fair at around R$30 to R$45 per glass. A 13% service charge is added to the bill, which the amazing staff amply deserve. Highly recommended for a special occasion and we will most...
