Someone local recommended this and I was not familiar with the restaurant even though it has locations in the US. In fact they have a sign of all the places where they're located by the bathroom and there's one 30 minutes from my house. I'll definitely be taking my husband there as he loves meat! LOL
The inside and outside were quite a spectacular environment. I loved how we sat next to a wall of green trees that may have connected to the outside. It was behind glass and very elegant. The whole place felt quite upscale although for the amount of food we got, it was quite affordable... Especially factoring in the US dollar exchange rate. Of course, the meat was plentiful, delicious, well seasoned, and always available. The fresh bar was also amazing. I loved everything I tried with no exceptions. My friends got cocktails which they really enjoyed. I stuck with flat bottled water.
We decided to get three desserts so we could all try all three. We easily agreed on our three selections and we each had a favorite by the end of our tasting. I loved the lava cake which was funny to me because it's so traditional in America and I was up for trying more local selections. One of my friends loved the tres leches the Best. And my other friend loved creme with papaya liqueur the best.
We wanted a quick bite after dinner because we were tired and I had an early flight the next morning. We chose the restaurant for traditional Brazilian barbecue experience before we left town. We ended up staying for 3 hours and leaving happy.
Now to the bathroom🚻 I was first going to use the handicap stall as it was accessible and I knew it would be large enough to accommodate me. But I could not get the door locked which was inconvenient because I was by myself. So no one to guard the door. I went into the main women's room which was lovely. Beautiful plants, clean, luxurious. The stalls were comparable to the rest of the bathroom, although there were no larger sized stalls due to the separate handicapped bathroom. I had to throw my paper towel away by the sink so there was nothing to protect my hand when I opened the door to leave.
Pee or pass? Definitely pee. And an honorary category... Meat or not meat? Definitely meat.
Follow me for places I've been and places I've gone 🤭. I'll tell you if it's a...

Read moreFogo de Chão is a well-known Brazilian steakhouse chain (churrascaria) that originated in southern Brazil and now has locations throughout the country and internationally. It’s a popular choice for those wanting to experience traditional rodízio-style dining, where servers circulate continuously with a variety of grilled meats, serving you tableside until you say stop.
We came here specifically to try the full Brazilian churrasco experience. We ordered the Full Experience set, which included an impressive lineup: Filet Mignon, Flank Steak, Beef Ribs, Sirloin, Chuck, Premium Ribs, Skirt Steak, Chorizo Steak, Ribeye, Lamb Chops, Lamb Shoulder, Pork Ribs, Sausage Platter (spicy, regular, and morcilla), Grilled Chicken, Chicken Hearts, and Picanha served alongside a Salad Bar and Feijoada.
It looks like a lot—and it is—but it’s all unlimited, served until you flip your table coaster from green (go) to red (stop). However, during our visit, the meat service was a bit slow—likely due to a busy evening—and we found that many of the meats lacked strong marination or seasoning. While the variety is impressive, the overall flavor could be more robust.
The salad bar is fresh and well-stocked, offering cheeses, cured meats, vegetables, and traditional Brazilian sides. The Feijoada (black bean and pork stew) was a nice addition. One thing we missed was the option of seafood—it would’ve been great to see that included as well.
Although it’s part of a chain, the restaurant maintains an upscale yet approachable atmosphere. The meat quality is decent, and the concept is fun, especially for first-timers looking to explore Brazilian...
