Small hotel in a great location. It is extremely close to shopping and food. Elevator is small maybe fit 4 people. Rooms are decent, I found a surprise waiting for me under my mattress. It didn't ruin my stay though, I politely told staff and they immediately fix the problem and while they we're changing out my sheets they made me a alcoholic drink (they didn't offer it I had to ask due to me being inconvenience) they should have took the initiative to offer something due to the nature of what was found under my mattress, most people would have demanded for a different room. Be aware that construction is going on so rolling your suitcase up isn't an option you will have to carry it up a few stairs to enter the building. You would think they would have bellman to assist since construction was going on. I did get help but only after I asked. The breakfast is ok pretty standard. Keep in mind this is a smaller hotel so everything is snug. Also don't forget this is a 3star hotel so some of these things aren't the hotels fault, they do operate as a 3star hotel so some things even that I am mentioning now aren't what a 3star hotel is supposed to do per say. The biggest thing going for the hotel is the good location. But the hotel is very clean! Keep your expectations low and you'll be ok. Iron & ironing board are available if you ask for them. The neighborhood is also pretty safe, I walked out a little at night and had no issues. Overall I would stay here again and recommend it. The wifi is decent also. Plus English is spoken here but a few...
Read moreI regret booking 4 nights at this hotel. The pics they have online are a lie. 1st: the bathroom is very dated. The sink is the size of the sink in an airplane. 2nd: The "sauna" is a one person shower. It looks like where people go to get murdered. 3rd: The hallways are extremely dark like that of the hotel from the Shining. 4th: I wanted some hot water for my tea, and as you can see the nesspresso machine is filthy 🤮. 5th: To push the green initiative, they give you this pouch bottle that is impossible to clean without the accompanying brush, which is not provided. Making the water pouch single use and defeat the whole purpose. 6th: my key card failed 4x in 2 hours. Each time I needed to go anywhere I would have to run down to the first floor and get it reprogrammed. 7th: we arrived when it was raining. The person who has the umbrella that is supposed to greet us was too busy in his phone. 8th: the mattress are pretty dated and uncomfortable. The Ibis hotel we stayed in Iquazu is much better.
Because we are platinum members with Accor, we upgraded our room. This is what it is to be platinum member with Accor apparently. My tiny hand is the size of the sink! If I don't post again, it probably meant i was murdered here. Seriously, this place should be torn down. Shame on you Accor. I regret spending over $20k USD with you guys. I didn't realize Mercure means...
Read moreAfter staying in quite a few ALL hotels in the past, I (unfortunately) have no choice than to relate this hotel pretty low. It simply is not at a Mercure level, has deteriorated over time and lacks basic expected elements.
A very annoying problem was created by the elevators. There were times where it caused 30 minutes delays and we took stairs (hidden behind) to bypass, but sometimes it is impossible. The problem of the elevators was increased due to staff using it and blocking it (to execute basic services) as well as taking one out of service quite often (we even suspected that it was to save power).
Staff at reception struggled to support basic questions as well as correct mistakes. Only upon return of a higher level manager, it was solved swiftly (but we cannot always rely on that 24/7).
Breakfast was very decent and good quality. Location is superb.
But... at the end, the service, rooms and facilities simply do not meet the Mercure level anymore. We also stayed at Ibis a few meters further on Av Paulista, which was not only a lot (!!!!) cheaper but also far better, more modern and better serviced than...
