Mooi Mooi Amazing Ice Creams - Itaim — Restaurant in Região Imediata de São Paulo

This place is amazing and curious at the same time. When I first saw it there was a huge line in front. Next day, it was the same. And day after day, I noticed that the line was always there. So I started thinking “the ice cream must be really really unique and delicious or maybe they are selling some kind of drug disguised as an ice cream because there could not be another explanation why people would spend 30+ minutes of their lunch time waiting in line, daily for a pricey cone of iced calories.

So, I entered the line to find out and WOW, now I know why…

From the menu, you can choose from a list of pre combined ingredients with interesting names or choose the ones you like to create your own recipe. You can choose from a cone/cup starting from R$24 to a R$31 milkshake. There is something for everybody’s taste, except if you have trouble with milk or sugar. They even have a vegan option, but no diet or lactose intolerant option.

Since you can’t go wrong with chocolate and Oreo, Cookies N’Crime it is…. and as expected, what a crime… it was just amazing.

The waffle cones are freshly made and I believe the ice cream is their recipe too.

They have a mix machine to crush the ingredients like Oreo, nuts and all with the fresh ice cream. Add a fresh made waffle cone, liquid chocolate cover and some micro brownie cubes on top and you have enormous piece of art.

Since it’s a mix and match menu, even if you run out of choices, you can always create a new one, so I believe I will be returning for new experiences like forever.

The only problem is the line… it’s not everyday that people have that much time to spend from their lunch time but it’s worth the wait.

There are some tables in front and inside the small shop too if you are lucky to find a free spot.

Outstanding ice cream. The parlour was founded by one of the best chefs in São Paulo, Oscar Bosch, who owns the equally outstanding Tanit. Mooi Mooi is not your average ice cream shop: premium ingredients, inventive flavours and high quality.

Service is super attentive and polite. I sampled the caramel popcorn - and it was the best popcorn I ever had. Amazingly light, soft and crunchy at the same time. I have no idea how they accomplish that.
