Ritz — Restaurant in Região Imediata de São Paulo

The food and menu have been the same for the past 20 years. It’s decent — nothing extraordinary, but satisfactory. The crowd is interesting, but the tables are way too small and cramped. It’s extremely uncomfortable to have dinner, especially if you have a wine bucket on the table — you simply can’t move. The tables are placed so close to each other that you can hear every word from the people next to you, and they can hear your conversation too. It’s really unpleasant. Over the years, I feel that Ritz has replaced its tables with smaller ones just to fit more into the dining room, which is not a good idea. It no longer feels like a nice place to have dinner with a friend or go on a date with some privacy. The food arrives in about ten minutes — that’s how fast they seem to want you to leave the table. This is one of my favorite lunch restaurants in the Jardims. The decor and ambiance are exceptional. The staff are professional and very attentive. Lastly, the food has been excellent.

"2023 Update" Formally, this was one of my favorite lunch restaurants in the Jardins. I have been to this restaurant three times since I returned to Brazil three weeks ago. Twice they have got my order wrong, and today the service was so pathetic I was not even able to order. My portugues is not great. However, in the previous 20+ visits to this restaurant, there has never been an issue. If you're not a local steer, clear as the staff appears to be struggling, and it's hard to rate the food when you can't get what you ordered. The atmosphere is one of incompetence. I will not return to The Ritz as there are plenty of good restaurants...

I’m so sad to give Ritz 4 stars. This used to be one of my favorite spots in town. Good music on a lower volume, good food and excellent service. This was before the pandemic.

Service remains amazing. Staff is super nice, knowledgeable and polite. The food however took a dip. The rice fritters were kinda tough and under seasoned. Wiener Schnitzel was also kinda tough, and under salted. Fries were just okay. Dessert was a disaster. Chocolove had some sort of a crunchy topping that tasted old and overly sweet.
