Si Señor! Shopping Eldorado — Restaurant in Região Imediata de São Paulo

Another stop on our journey to find good Mexican in São Paulo, we heard great things about the "Si, Senor" restaurants and could not pass up opportunity during our random trip to Shopping Eldorado mall. There is a full menu, but we went right for the buffet, had agua com gas (separate charge, but there are some free drinks with the buffet). The buffet had a much more diverse variety of foods then we normally would find in a Mexican restaurant in the US. On the plus side, lots of tortillas, carne, frango, but also (since we don't do carne) plenty of vegetarian (including burrito) and seafood (shrimp), along with onion rings (unusual), guacamole, pico de galle. This seemed (especially with the background music theme) something like a Brazilian interpretation of Tex-Mex. It was a mostly good interpretation, but we were underwhelmed by the salsa and the queijo cremosa. They were ok, but just not what we were used to in pretty much any Mexican restaurant in the Southwestern US. I am from the US so I was expecting flavors similar to the US. The flavors are not similar. Very far from it. That is the reason for my personal low ranking. However, a Brasilian may enjoy this flavor and so this may be a perfect restaurant for you. I ordered the quesadillas and fajitas. I asked for some hot /spicy sauce. They said they didn’t have any. The fajitas were doused in BBQ sauce. The frozen margarita is good - somewhat small compared to American sizes. The mojito comes with tequila and not rum. Service was prompt. I just couldn’t believe they didn’t have hot sauce like Tabasco. Could never imagine a Mexican restaurant...

I'm a sucker for tex-mex food and Si Señor offers great affordable options. It's not similar to original American tex-mex flavor wise but its good nonetheless. The nachos are always crunchy, the sauces always saucy and their burritos and tacos are big, filling, full of flavor and arrive piping hot.
