Note: CLOSED ON SUNDAYS
This won’t be the cheapest coffee you’ll have in Sofia, but it wil be the best coffee you’ll have in Sofia.
The place is tiny, so you’ll more than likely need to do take-away, but there are some seats at the window, & 1 or 2 small tables.
The attention to detail in the preparation of the coffees, & the solid selection of high quality beans is what sets this place apart. I didn’t really see any pastry or other food options inside, but I got there kind of late on a Saturday, so maybe they had just sold out (there was a small cake dish sitting empty).
I got a flat white, & a double espresso (yeah, that’s 4 shots total…I was in dire need of caffeine after a late Friday night, heh). This was ~10 lev ($6 USD in Jan 2022), which is obviously not bad for quality coffee beans, prepared by a barista who is clearly passionate about his craft, but it’s not cheap by Sofia standards.
Chuckys is only a block or 2 past the main pedestrian thoroughfare of Bulevard Vitosha, & directly next door to the VERY popular breakfast/ brunch spot BOHO. When you see the line outside BOHO, you’ll know you’re close.
Recommended for those who truly appreciate good coffee, with solid beans in diverse flavors, many ways of prepping them & an owner who knows...
Read moreChucky's Coffee is a delightful spot that quickly became my go-to place for a morning pick-me-up. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a cozy interior that makes it the perfect spot to relax or get some work done. The staff is friendly and attentive, always greeting you with a smile and ready to make recommendations if you’re unsure what to try.
One of the standout items on their menu is the cappuccino. It's consistently excellent, with a perfect balance of rich espresso and creamy, frothy milk. The baristas clearly take pride in their craft, as each cup is beautifully presented, often with a touch of latte art that adds to the experience. The flavor is robust but not overpowering, making it a great choice whether you’re starting your day or enjoying an afternoon break.
Chucky's Coffee also offers a range of pastries and light snacks that pair wonderfully with their beverages. The overall experience at Chucky’s is a blend of great coffee, pleasant surroundings, and excellent service. I highly recommend their cappuccino to anyone who appreciates a well-made coffee and a welcoming atmosphere. It's a place you'll want to return to again and again.

Read moreOne of our favorite spots in all of Sofia, but unfortunately, it still gets only four out of five stars because they do not have alternative milks, and they don’t have real cold brew coffee. I will still come here every day, and I highly recommend it, but I’m reserving that last star for when those two things are added to the list of items they have on menu. The weirdest part is that they have a book titled “Cold Brew Coffee” in the coffee shop, and even have something called “Cold Brew” on the menu, but it is not genuine cold brew coffee, and it’s a shame. Their techniques at this place are so excellent that I can only imagine how good their cold brew would be. I am making a promise to the owners of Chucky‘s that if they add cold brew to the menu, and maybe get an alternative milk, like a soy or an almond, this goes up to five stars. Besides that, I’ll still be there every day, maybe even...
