The Happy Bakery — Restaurant in Sofia City

UPDATE: I tried The Happy Bakery again today, and for the first time was greeted by a smiling face. A face I hadn't seen before, a tall handsome woman who said 'ti' to me and was very pleasant. I upgrade my review to 4 stars and will come again soon and hope to see that her enthusiasm has been contagious. BTW: I asked whether she was the owner (because typically the owner of the shop is most engaged with the customers), and she said, 'No, I am just a salesperson.' 'Just a salesperson', what?--workers like this will save the business in the end.

The croissants and banitsa are both pretty good, depending on your craving. This place is right on my way to work, and it would be so easy to stop here every day. The only thing that keeps me from stopping here is that the people working here seem so unhappy that it depresses me at the beginning of my day. But I have no complaints about the food! I would give four stars for even one smile (or at least not having my change literally thrown at me every time...

I could not believe the service I received today, as a non native speaker who tries pretty hard with my Bulgarian I was horrified at the way I was spoken about (I understood what was being said) and the level of rudeness from the staff member serving me this was not my normal experience of this (my formally favourite bakery) I was using my google translate app to read the stickers on the items while browsing.. and this woman shouted at me not to take photos....?
