It was a pleasant evening. Good food, good wine & good banter with the waiter. Unlike the Malis Restaurant close by, they had sufficient sir conditioning (as opposed to blasting fans, on request) and they not only had fresh morning glory (with the leaves & thin stalks, they knew how to prepare it properly without it being chewy and stringy). So yes, Sokkhak’s Stir-Fried Mixed Vegetables comes with Bok Choy, Green Kale, Pineapple, Onion, Red & Green Capsicum, Roasted Tomato Relish, Spring onion, Black Mushroom and baby corn with oyster sauce. Amazing!
The Deep-Fried Spring Rolls were the best we’ve ever had!!! They had immense flavour and were complimented by a couple of tasty sauces. They come hot do beware. They consist of Minced River Shrimp, Pork, Chicken, Taro, Yam bean, Carrot, Coconut Milk, Lemongrass, Kaffir Lime Leaf and peanut dipping sauce. Exquisite!
The Roasted Khmer Chicken comes fresh and free-range, with Honey, Rice Brandy, Lemongrass, Jackfruit, Spinach, Morning Glory with Sweet Chilli Sauce, Lime and Black Pepper Sauce. Flavourful!

Read moreAbsolutely perfect place for dining! The service staff were informative, welcoming, friendly and attentive. The restaurant’s atmosphere was warm and comfortable. The food was delicious.
We got a little turned around when locating the restaurant and the manager(?) who happened to be outside spotted us and asked if we needed help - something we really appreciated as we know others may not have approached us at all. She directed us to the restaurant and even attempted to seat us even though we were early and the restaurant had not yet opened.
My husband fortunately noticed that the staff still seemed to be preparing for the opening so we informed them that we were happy to sit at the waiting area.
The staff still quickly prepared a place for us and seated us before the official opening time. The food arrived quickly and our every need was attended to throughout the meal.
Thank you so much for the wonderful experience in...
Read moreWe have spent the past three weeks or so in Siem Reap and have sampled quite a few of its restaurants including many at the top of Trip's list. Given the high rating this restaurant has received from most other visitors I was very surprised that food was just so-so and in some cases not great. For example, the stuffed frogs were dry and relatively tasteless as was the roasted Khmer chicken. The beef lok lak was just ok and the banana blossom salad was a little soggy. On the other hand the crispy fried pork spring rolls were among the best I have had. I am wondering if they were just having a bad night.
On the other hand, it is one of the few restaurants with AC . The venue is high class with excellent modern art on the walls. It is not the best place for an intimate romantic meal but it is spacious, clean and new.
The prices are about double most other tourist restaurants in the area but still quite affordable by...
