WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! We moved here 4 months ago and have eaten from here on average twice a week since. It WAS our favorite restaurant, but I do not plan on ever going back. Here is why.
We ordered two ginger beef combination lunches along with a lot of other things. I thought everything was as it normally is and was nearly done with lunch until I ate their noodles and bit into something so hot, it literally made me throw it my entire meal. My husband (who loves spicy food) laughed at me because admittedly I like mild spice and he immediately spits out his first bite. I have been laying in bed sick all day and hubby hasn't been much better.
He finally decided to call and let them know though that is something we rarely do and the manager was a complete and total arse!! He said, "what do you want me to do about it" quite rudely. Then manager said he would talk to cook... cook, of course, says he has been cooking it the same all day... eye roll and manager proceeds to say, "nothing I can do about it... that is just how we make it". WELL MANAGER, We have ordered this countless times in the past four months and I assure you, it is NOT the way you usually make it!! The two meals were different... One with lots of these horrible ghost peppers and the other with none. Taste was completely off. I hope the owner (if other than you) realizes your horrible rudeness. My husband is bringing it back to you now so you can see the difference yourself. Please keep your food... I don't enjoy throwing up my meals, lying sick in bed all day because of YOUR mistake and then being basically...
Read moreI have to say without a doubt that Oriental Village is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Abbotsford to date.
It's a nice little restaurant, with very friendly staff that quickly made us feel welcome and had us seated and ready to take our orders in a short time.
We have been here twice so far and thus far have been extremely happy with our menu choices. Often, when I order from other Chinese food places, I find something on the menu that falls short of my expectations. This was NOT the case here!
So far, every dish we have ordered from the menu has exceeded my expectations and experiences at other restaurants. I highly recommend the lemon chicken dish here. It's absolutely fantastic, as is the BBQ pork chowmein, mushroom fried rice, and beef with oyster sauce.
The servings here taste fresh and come out to your table hot, not lukewarm, the portions, in my opinion, are very well sized for the price. Two people can just order two dishes to share and easily leave full of delicious food and well satisfied.
I have no problems leaving the Oriental Village a 5 star review, we will be back often, and if you haven't been I highly suggest giving them a visit I don't believe you'd be...

• Ginger Beef was very good, top 3 I've ever had. Not too sweet and not too vinegary; just well balanced. • Beef Chow Fun was excellent. Maybe needed a pinch more salt for my taste but the flavor was on point. • Dry Garlic Boneless Pork was probably the best I've had. Super flavorful, well-breaded and nicely fried. • Orange Chicken was good. A little mild but it was good and not every dish needs to be heavy. • Shredded Pork in Spicy Sauce (Yuxiang Pork) was very flavorful. Decently spicy and very tender pieces of pork with lots of garlic.
𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀:
• BBQ Pork Fried Rice was average. Standard pieces of BBQ Pork and the rice didn't seem to get that Wok Hei effect. • Cantonese Chow Mein was not great. I've had this a bunch of times and only one place makes it in a way I like it. Maybe just not for me. Sauce wasn't great, not a fan of the noodles used.
I'd probably give it a 4.2/5 overall from my single experience. I'm going to give it a 5 star review because they're closing the doors. Really hope they open back up because this is either the best or second best Chinese food I've had in...
