UPDATE 2: I finally had the opportunity to sit in for a meal. We got the Madlove Burger and the Southern Charm Burger. My kids had the Cheese Pizza and the Mac It Your Way. The fries were as good as ever, but the Yukon Chips were surprisingly delicious! I'm torn between the two!
UPDATE: Recently, I came here again straight from the Abbotsford Airport with an app order. By the time I got here, the manager was just putting my order into the bag. The burger was excellent as always, and the fries were crispy as I requested.
Finding some time before our flight at Abbotsford Airport, We made a dash to Red Robin's for some reliable good food.
Like most Red Robins in Metro Vancouver, this restaurant was packed. We had placed our order online ahead of time, which made it quicker for me to sink my teeth into a delicious burger.
We ordered the Burnin' Love Burger and the Whiskey River BBQ Burger. The Burnin' Love Burger was a limited time only Burger, so we knew we had to try it while it's available.
The Burnin' Love Burger was spicy and packed a full punch of flavor. The fried jalapeno coins gave an interesting crunch. The burger was juicy and greatly enhanced by the combined toppings. The chipotle aioli makes it that much better. I really enjoyed this burger and hope it goes on the menu permanently.
The Whiskey River BBQ Burger was also juicy and flavorful. This is my favorite go-to burger on the menu since I was a teen. The BBQ sauce was the dominant flavor but a welcomed one. The onion straws are what makes this burger stand out. The crunch and crisp of the onion straws gave this burger texture while the onion flavor worked well with the BBQ sauce. Between the two, I actually liked the Burnin' Love Burger more. This is shocking as the Whiskey River BBQ has been dethroned!
We were allowed to order the fries extra crispy, which made the tender interior that much better while the exterior had a burst of texture. Love Red Robin's steak fries!
There's a reason why this Red Robin's is packed. They deliver good...
ย ย ย Read moreI am a Red Robin Royalty member and have been enjoying the establishment for years, as management has changed over the years I've seen the changes in the quality. I must say the recent changes have me a little apprehensive to be suggesting this establishment first anymore. My most recent experience we waited terribly long to be served our drinks, only for one of my family members not to recieve a drink (not even a water, customer psychology, everyone at the table who ordered a drink should receive one together) Our appetizer arrived before the third guests drink. When we received our food we had no cutlery, and the food has changed. The plating is quite tacky and reckless. The side poutine had one cheese curd. Not an exaggeration. One small curd. We returned the plate to the kitchen. It feels less like a gourmet resturant and more like a highschool, the once gourmet styled plates have been replaced by bright red lunch trays. As someone who has spent time in psychaitric care, it felt oddly medical to me. I would suggest another plating option. Despite all the above, the food still does taste great! And the customer service WAS adjusted by the GM. We did bring our concerns to attention the food was re made, and we were fairly compensated. Red Robin has not lost my business but it's no longer my favourite place to chow. I hope to see improvements upon future visits, I'm a firm believer in...
ย ย ย Read moreOk I we go to Red Robins on average 1 a month with our family. Itโs one of our favourite restaurants. Was at the location in Victoria last week with fantastic service and food. Unfortunately todayโs experience was less than enjoyable. To start things the restaurant was busy, but not very busy. The table we were sat at was dirty and very sticky, we ended up wiping it down with our own Lysol wipes. The server was very friendly, but they seemed scattered and not the most attentive. At times it took 20 minutes to get a drink refill. The menu is very misleading with the cheese bacon fondue. As you only get a tiny ketchup style dipping cup, not worth the price in my opinion. The chicken burger I got was on the dry side but was still edible. The salad was way over dressed, and I typically enjoy a little more dressing. When we asked for a refill on 3 of the bottomless fries we only got one small basket, and we are a table of 6. Has to get a second and third requested on the arrival of the first one. The cleanliness in the rest of the restaurant was not great. The bathroom cleanliness was horrible. I ended up not using the washroom and waited till I got home. For a restaurant our family usually enjoys its unfortunate I have to leave a negative review. I hope the next visit will be...
