During a recent work trip to Abbotsford, I had the pleasure of dining at Sushi 9, a cozy Japanese restaurant that left a lasting impression. Over the course of a week, I found myself returning four times, eager to explore more of their extensive menu.

On my visits, I indulged in the Fantastic Roll, Dragon Roll, and the Sashimi & Sushi box from their lunch offerings. Each dish was a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to quality and authenticity. The sushi rolls were beautifully arranged, and the freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite. The sashimi was fresh, delicate, and tasty. The flavors transported me back to my culinary experiences in Japan, a true delight for the senses.

The restaurant’s ambiance is intimate, featuring several comfortable booths. Notably, three of these booths are designed in a pseudo-Horigotatsu style, accommodating up to six people, offering a unique and traditional dining experience. I never encountered a long wait for my food, a testament to their efficient service. The staff were consistently friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience.

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an authentic Japanese dining experience. You will not be...

Crab meat in a chicken teriyaki roll with no warning in the ingredients listed. Specifically ordered 2 items with no seafood, shellfish or crustaceans as it causes a anaphylactic reaction and put “severe - life threatening allergy to Seafood and crustaceans. No cross contamination please” in the notes to ensure there was no issues. Once I started to eat the roll my whole body started swelling and getting itchy so I called the restaurant to ask what was in the roll besides chicken and rice, the owner told me crab. Who puts crab in a chicken teriyaki roll and who doesn’t disclose this on the menu. When I told Steve (owner) he said he would credit my account, the $12 is nothing compared to the sheer panic I had knowing I just ate something that may kill me. When I repeatedly explained the severity of not disclosing all ingredients in something that doesn’t not usually contain shellfish Steve kept saying he would credit me. When I pointed out the special specific instructions he said he just read them. I am unable to leave my construction safety officer job to go to the emergency ward at the hospital because there is no one else to take over and I cannot send 95 workers home. This restaurant should be shut...

Sushi 9 is definitely the kind of place I can't wait to tell all my friends about!

My top recommendations: Oshi Salmon Sushi, which is smoky and buttery, and the Futo Maki, which is packed with flavor, and the spicy seafood Udon, which has the perfect kick. (The other side dishes were awesome too. Even while I’m writing this review, I’m already thinking about going back for more!)

There are so many sushi places out there, and it can be hard to choose where to go. I usually check reviews, but these days it’s tough to find honest ones. That’s why Sushi 9 stands out—it truly lives up to the great reviews. Every dish, from the sushi to everything else on the menu, was absolutely delicious!

I completely understand why one reviewer mentioned coming back multiple times after their first visit. Everything I tried was fantastic, and I’m already planning to explore more of their menu next time!

If you’re in the area or just looking for a new sushi spot to try, do yourself a favor and check out Sushi 9. You won’t be...

The last time I went to Sushi 9 was a long time ago, however I do remember enjoying their food and service. Coming their again, the establishment's quality has not changed. The restaurant was very clean and well decorated. There were posters of the menu choices they serve and computerized order pads at every table. I ordered the Tuna & Salmon Donburi and the Real Crab California Roll. The raw fish from the donburi was succulent and savoury. The rice was very good on its own. Even that came with the dish was good since it was fermented. The roll, like the name says, is made with real crab rather than imitation, so it tasted like actual meat. So naturally, the crab meat and the avocado complimented the sushi rice and vice versa. The staff was very cordial and came to my table often to serve me. I would very much like to come back to Sushi 9 and try another one of their unique entrees.
