I Love this specific Denny's location: Location is beautiful (Riverside). still some 'small town' vibes friendly consistent staff give this Dennys a familiar feel-good atmosphere. Food is consistently great (I always order "'Moons over myHammie' on sourdough bread with extra crunchy crispy hashbrowns and a milkshake, please".😉 -- they cook the hashbrowns according to request which makes me very happy. Milkshakes choices include strawberry, chocolate, and Oreo, and always come full with whip topping and with a little extra milkshake in the mix-tin on the side. Meal portions are also well sized without much waste, yet large enough that I usually take half my sandwich home with me [which is exactly how i like things to be!]. interior is clean with well spaced seating (a mix of chairs @ tables, & booths) with comfy vinyl uphostry in excellent condition [no cracks, rips, nicks or tears] Tables are cleared and wiped promptly and floor is kept clear). *bathrooms F and M. Females has 2 stalls (1 handicap accessible, & a second regular stall). 1 sink only, but well stocked with soap and papertowel. Garbage can is conveniently located near inside bathroom door. Imeadiately outside the bathrooms is a functioning stocked hand sanitizer stand/dispenser. *Parking is in a smallish but easily navigatable parking lot, -- there is usually atleast 1 or 2 empty parking spots available, and if not there is another parking lot imeadiately across the street from the restaurant. the restaurant can range in business from several groupings (spread throughout), to comfortably full. -- I have never had to wait in line to be seated, and have never been/felt rushed during or after my meal. staff is patient and accomodating where/when possible & reasonable. There is a beautiful patio and they will open it for you if you ask politely(and the weather and staffing allow). dinning area is shaped like an 'L' with bathrooms at a central location away from tables. Additional indoor seating around the bottom of the 'L' allows more opportunity for acomodating guests who need/want a table in a realatively 'quieter' location with less people passing their table. This is my 'Regular'/Usual Dennys. -- even though i live in the city, I choose to come to this Dennys rather than the city Dennys (both Dennys are of equal distance from where i live in the city, -- but one far outshines the other, each & every time). Trust me, its worth taking the country drive into Okotoks, just for Riverside Dennys).
A place where real food still happens, the staff look like they’ve recently experienced joy, and your meal doesn’t come with the creeping realization you’ll be living off coupons for the next six months.
It’s no accident this Denny’s is one of the most reviewed places in town. You walk in, you sit down, and the booth cradles you like a slow-cooked roast. Warm, tender, and dangerously close to becoming a permanent fixture if the coffee keeps flowing.
Even the lampshades seem to know how to hang: calm, inviting, like they’ve been marinating in comfort just waiting for you to show up.
Meanwhile, some other places in town look less like restaurants and more like therapy sessions for insecure decor, serving three entrees of ego in a stir-fry of condensation.
Denny’s doesn’t demand a standing ovation. It hands you a menu, keeps your coffee cup full, and serves you meals that hug you from the inside out. It’s the kind of place where pancakes are a love language, bacon is a peace treaty, and pie is a treatise on splendid “piemanship”. In a cullinary world full of overcooked concepts, Denny’s stuck with the simple recipe: Tasty food with a high “yumm!” factor. Cheerful humorous staff that actually seem to enjoy life. Pricing that is both predictable and justifies itself quite modestly.

Read moreThis is a very nice and cozy Denny's location. It is the only one in Okotoks, and the only real "diner" in town (at least to my knowledge) meaning it's frequently busy with a noise level to match. The atmosphere, apart from being a bit loud, is otherwise fantastic. Staff and diners are friendly, happy, and laughter is a constant background noise. Over the dozen or so times I've been here, the place is always meticulously cleaned. The cutlery and dishes are spotless, and the glasses clear. They take care to ensure the floor isn't wet in the wintertime. The food is good, pretty consistent with other Denny's, but seems to be of higher quality here, probably due to the care of the chefs. The one thing I noticed is inconsistent portions when it comes to steak. Last time I was here, a few weeks back, I ordered and recieved a proper sized sirloin. This time, as I write this, I am looking at the steak placed in front of me, and it is about 30% smaller than the previous one, for the same price. Bit of a disappointment. But, at least it's delicious. They also don't have honey at the table - while grape and strawberry jams are present, honey you must ask for. Overall, if you're looking for a good breakfast in Okotoks, this is certainly a great...
