It wasnât the absolute worst coffee shop experience Iâve ever had, but it was pretty close. Iâve been there twice, and both times the service was a disaster. The first time, I ordered a salted caramel latte. The girl at the counter, an Asian girl, said âyes, sure.â Then we waited over 20 minutes by the counter. A blonde girl was working, clearly not in the mood. She eventually put a coffee on the counter without saying a word. I asked if it was the salted caramel latte, and she just ignored me. I asked again, and she finally replied, âWe donât have salted caramel latte.â So⊠how was I able to order it? The second time, my friend wanted to have breakfast there, so I gave it another shot. I spent around $30 on a coffee, a croissant, and a quiche. Nobody asked if it was for here or to-go, so they randomly gave my friend a mug and plate, and everything I got was in paper packaging, which I canât stand. The quiche was super oily and had zero salt. When I asked for salt, they said they didnât have any. Every time I asked a question in this place (which has been three times), the staff acted like I was bothering them or interrupting something important. The food is average at best, and the staff seriously needs some basic customer service training. As someone new to town, I wonât...
Read moreWent in during brunch hours for a quick bite to eat. They had a nice outdoor appearance, and cafe was fairly tidy. Overall, it is a good place to get a quick bite. Their pastries seem to be made by other local businesses and they make their own beverages.
The ham and cheese croissant and butter chicken pie came pretty warm and we were satisfied with the portion. The duo chocolate pie had a good sweetness and chocolaty centre, however it was a bit dry on the outside. And the peanut butter brownie tend to be a bit more on the sweeter side, depending on your liking.
The cafe did however get pretty busy as a large, obnoxious party decided to visit. Which made seating and dining in for other customers very difficult. If it is possible, it would be nice to have an indoor expanded space or seating, in case of busier hours of the day and colder weather. And considering that Canmore holds a lot of tourist attraction.
Overall good experience, and staff were quite friendly and humorous, which made the environment much...
Read moreI stopped into Eclipse Coffee while visiting Canmore. The cafĂ© itself is really clean, cozy, and has a welcoming vibe. Itâs the kind of place that feels comfortable to sit and relax for a bit. The staff were genuinely friendly and made me feel welcomed right away, which I really appreciated.
I ordered a mocha, and while it was fine, it didnât particularly stand outâjust okay. One thing I found a little disappointing was the size options. Their "large" is only 12oz, which felt a bit small, especially for the price. I was hoping for something a bit more substantial.
All in all, Eclipse has a great atmosphere and lovely staff, and I can see why a lot of people might enjoy it. For me personally, it just didnât quite hit the mark. Still, a decent place to check out if...
