Art Country Canada Canmore Gallery — Attraction in Alberta

Art Country Canada is a fantastic venue to get acquainted with great Canadian and international art and to purchase it. The gallery has wonderful art collections and it is very client oriented, with friendly approach. It is ironclad reliable, trustworthy and very accommodating. I have been dealing with this gallery for many years and I have never been disappointed. Angelo, the gallery owner, will do everything to help you get what you are looking for or to assist you any other way he can. He really is a great asset to art enthusiasts and collectors like me. His art related knowledge, experience and access to many collections is priceless. Their shipping is flawless and every single piece of art I purchased from them arrived very safely across the country. As matter of fact, it is so good I asked them few times to handle packing and shipping of art I purchased elsewhere (private collectors), trusting only them to handle fragile and expensive pieces. On a recent visit back home (we used to live in Alberta) we stopped in at the Canmore Art Country Canada gallery and ended up buying a fairly large s/n Robert Bateman print. We had it shipped to California. The shipping was prompt, but unfortunately suffered some transit damage to the print. Angelo stepped up and made it right. He shipped a replacement print (different number obviously) before I even returned the initial one. The second print came in perfect shape. I of course returned the first one after bringing it to a local gallery (at Angelo's suggestion) to have the damaged print removed from it's frame and replaced with the new undamaged print. Angelo paid for that re-framing job. Although unfortunate what happened, I was impressed with the process in making this all work well. Angelo fixed it with class and speed. We have since purchased another print (also s/n) from Art Country Canada which just came in the other day...in perfect shape. We are very proud of the pieces we purchased, and equally happy in the customer service and professionalism with this gallery. Would not hesitate in making further purchases. First...

I had a bizarre experience in this place with the owner. We are cottagers in the community. We wanted to look at local art stores to fill our vacation home, in order to support local and build local relationships, rather than just the usual Calgary haunts, Wallace, Masters, Loch etc. However, he was so verbally aggressive and slightly hostile, giving opinions like "Calgary is over", talking about how all the money is in Toronto an California, and generally being dismissive of us, while also talking about how great his business is. He explained the location is nothing to him as he does so much online. Its hard to conceive of why he continues to run this retail shop if he is having the success that he claims. He seemed to resent us being in there or something. I tried to think through what would cause him to act this way. Perhaps he was looking to close soon and wanted us out? Perhaps he is going through something personally? I wasn't sure whether to feel mildly offended, or pity. Anyhow, I felt generally uncomfortable and can't picture myself going back.
