Awesome place to know the history of Canmore- shows the gradual evolution of this small mountain town: from a small mining rural Alberta village to a buzzing tourist centre after 1988 Winter Olympics Calgary. Everything is preserved here. Every town should have a local museum for the community.
On a day when the weather was cold, we stopped in to learn about the local history and geography. The museum gave us a great picture of the fortitude and determination of it's early settlers. It's collections are impressive. I am glad we visited.
The Museum is small but affordable & lots to learn. Also enjoyed the cool ski Raven in the building (picture added). Great for a small family to check out & learn about Canmore's mining history & other things.
Lovely little educational spot. I wish I could move to Canmore ad.1930. Or even just Canmore before it became so overpriced😁 Check their gift store, lots of cool stuff there.
