Maybe spent 15 minutes here. Not worth admission fee. Should be renamed The Canmore Mining Museum. Any reviews more than a year old do not reflect the current museum. Because earlier exhibits have split off (the geology and indigenous) there are only two exhibits left: 1. Mining (which does have an interesting VR experience, hence the 2-star rating), and 2. The miner’s children (childhood in Canmore). Basically a museum on white people mining in Canmore, with very, very little geology and no early history of the area.
The geology museum in a different location, different entry fee is small, but excellent tour guide and fascinating. Did not get to visit the indigenous museum as we did not find out about it until we left.
Here’s a thought: the three museums should join together for a one-ticket/three museum package. Each museum provides (without guests having to ask) a rack card with all 3 museums and...

The museum is rather small and includes a VR section. If you really read through all the signage and browse around you could spend maybe 45 minutes here but most would probably only need 15-20 minutes at max.
There is also a small souvenir shop connected to the museum. I got a few trinkets just because.
The person working the shop was very nice and was more than happy to help out with any...
Read more$10 entry fee to see a couple of tvs, and a handful of items in a small space. The experience was incredibly underwhelming.
Don’t charge so much as an entry fee please… I always visit museums when I travel and this was by far the worse value for my money
The building itself is big, giving you the impression the museum will be as well. The “museum” is just a tiny corner of the building. This kind of felt like a tourist trap...
