I have had beaver tail many times at their Banff locations and even in Ottawa and have never encountered any problem until my visit one afternoon at this Canmore location. I have only tried the beaver tails and this time was in the mood for some fries so ended up ordering the poutine. To my surprise, the gravy was cold and the fries were overdone. If you have ever seen a day old gravy left on the counter, that is what this gravy looked like. The cheese obviously did not melt as it was supposed to. I went back to the cashier and told her that gravy is cold and the cheese is not melting. She responded by saying, "What do you want me to do? There is nothing I can do". Those were her exact words. I came back to my group frustrated at such rude response. My friends thinking the poutine can't be that bad, tried it. And this time we went back together to confront the cashier and told her we want a refund. She seemed dismayed but without a word gave us back the money. Well I am sure this was just the kid that was working there that has never learned to deal with any complaints and probably not many people order anything other than beaver tail at...

This location Not Worthy of the Brand. First, this location seems to be a second thought, as it is not a stand alone location, but rather co-located within some sort of convenience store. In one of Alberta's premier mountain resort towns, this brand should have more of a presence rather than as a second thought. My first visit to one of the locations was in Ottawa a decade or so back, and have been a fan ever since. We stopped in and dealt with a not so friendly young man (not rude, just not friendly), and people not appearing to work there milling around, coming and going into the small work area. The freezer with the frozen treats was a mess and very unappealing. To the point, the Beaver Tails we purchased had an odd after flavor that was possibly due to the under cooked dough. Needless to say, the Beaver Tails we purchased were not finished and ended up in the bin. If you are a fan like us, drive the extra 20 Km to Banff and enjoy them...

Pretty excited to have a new Beaver Tails location, now in Canmore!!! Perfect treat for after a hike in the mountains.

This location is more like a kiosk inside of small grocery store, but still they have all the same flavours from the one in Banff.

I'm giving 5 stars because the Beaver Tails are awesome and made to order, however the ice cream is not my favorite. This location didn't have coffee or tea, nor the store where's at.

The service was really nice. We arrived with a party of five, 15 min before the closing time and the girl still was very kind, I appreciate that. Our visiting family who had never had Beaver Tails before were very happy and really liked it!

My favorite flavour is the cinnamon and sugar, it's a lighter treat that way. The ones with banana and apple for example, are a bit heavier. So go for those if you are on the...

Our first beaver tail and we got to ring the bell!! How fun. The staff here are super sweet and really complete the experience. We decided to try the classic with a lemon wedge - so glad we did because this one really shines. 7 of us split one since we weren’t sure we’d like it but once we had a bite, we wish we all got our own. In the words of my friend, “It’s better than the best churro or funnel cake you’ve ever had.” Surprisingly light, fluffy, and addicting. Btw we also went to the Banff location which was bad in every way compared to this one. Long lines, small storefront aka no seating, and they stretched the dough too thin so it was crackly instead of fluffy. :( Canmore location is WAY better.

This was my first time trying a BeaverTail, and I went with a strawberry cheesecake flavoured one. It’s definitely a unique treat. It's warm, fried, sweet, and indulgent. I enjoyed the first few bites, but I’ll admit it got overly sweet pretty quickly for my taste. Still, it’s one of those classic Canadian experiences you should try at least once, and I’m glad I did. The location was fairly busy with limited seating, which made it a bit less comfortable to linger and enjoy. Overall, it was an okay experience. Not something I’d go out of my way for again, but a fun novelty that checks the “been there, done that” box.

Went around 3pm on a Sunday and it was not too busy. Wanted to try just the beaver tail on its own with no topping but my partner wanted something sweet as well. So we asked if they could only top up half the beaver tail and they had no problems doing that! Got a scoop of shark bite flavoured ice cream on the side as well. The beaver tail was very hot when we got it and very crispy. The side with cinnamon sugar was lightly seasoned and wasn’t overly sweet. The shark bite ice cream was surprisingly good, tasted of blue raspberry bubble gum. Would recommend the beaver tails here if Banff gets too busy.
