Lovely Ice Cream & Treats — Restaurant in Alberta

Went for a day trip to Banff and decided to stop in Canmore. I went here because it seemed fitting to try a local ice cream place as an ice cream fan. The ice cream itself was average but the customer service left a bad taste in my mouth and left me irritated for a while. I was only allowed to try 1 ice cream before I purchased, which I've never heard of in an ice cream spot. When I tried to ask further questions to understand why this, the older lady who spoke to me was quite condescending and told me I should "trust my choice". As someone who not local this made no sense because I had never been there before, nonetheless I ended up purchasing an ice cream and wasn't the biggest fan of my choice because I only got to try one (I didn't like the one I sampled). The saving grace for this shop is its interior, which is modern and clean. however, i think they tried to be original and interesting and fresh with their flavors was their downfall. i got their brownie sandwich and the brownie was more like a chocolate bar with how much chocolate it contained. also didnt seem fresh. the vanilla looking icecream inside was actually mint and you could taste the actual mint leaves. i personally didnt like that but its subjective. my family got butter apricot jam which i found strange that they put actual butter in ice cream. they also got coffee ice cream and proclaimed that “the coffee flavor tastes cheap, like coffee grounds” but another less coffee knowledgeable member stated that it tasted fine. overall, if you like the flavors i think the store is good. i unfortunautely...

I recently took my kids to Lovely Ice Cream in Canmore, expecting a delightful treat, but our experience was far from lovely. To start, they were completely out of cones, which was a huge letdown for my kids who were looking forward to enjoying their ice cream the traditional way. Instead, we were given soggy paper cups that quickly turned into a mess.

While the flavor of the ice cream was passable, the portions were ridiculously small. For the exorbitant prices they charge, I expected much more than a meager scoop that barely filled the bottom of the cup. It felt like a rip-off, especially for a family outing.

Overall, Lovely Ice Cream was a major disappointment. The lack of cones, the tiny portions, and the high prices make this place one to avoid. Save your money and find a better spot to treat...
