Canmore is a walking city, so Policeman's Creek Trail is a sort of 'connector' to the various trail heads, as well as an easy going, wide and level pathway located right in the village center. It is suited to wheelchairs and strollers. Birdwatching is a popular pastime here as waterfowl are numerous during certain times of the year and are visible from the boardwalk section of the trail. Main Street and Railway Avenue is where you will find the trailhead entrance to the Policeman's Creek trails. Bikes are not allowed on the boardwalk section of the trail. Parking is on the street anywhere you can find it and its free. Be sure to notice the Big Head Sculpture. This was a quiet pretty walk after dinner. People were out, but all were respectful and enjoying the views on this nice evening

A gorgeous little trail located in the heart of Canmore. Definitely suitable for everyone of all levels of fitness and hiking skills. You'll get the backyard beauty that locals take for granted every day. This trail is used by runner, bikers and tourists, can be busy at times but plenty to room to squeeze by each other or step off the trail to let others pass. You'll want to bring a camera if so inclined and you'll be surrounded by nature in such a way that at times it's hard to remember your in the centre of town. Great way to spend an afternoon to walk off your lunch calories 😉

Great trail in the town of Canmore, easy to find across the street from the Canmore Big Head. This is an nice scenic boardwalk path that loops back to the beginning. A short and easy walk. If you cross the street back to the Big Head side there are a few other paths that you can follow which take you into different areas of town, lots of cute little shops and eateries along the way. if you want to park near the trailhead you will most likely have to pay for parking.

The Policeman Creek Boardwalk Trail is a beautiful trail that goes through parts of Canmore. It leads through forested sections, along the peaceful creek and over boardwalks with some amazing views of the mountains along the way. There are some benches along the trail where you can sit and enjoy the views as well.

I walked the trail most recently in September 2022 and this is always a favourite on previous visits to the Rockies.

The trail is flat and easy and makes for a nice evening or...
