Charging $1 for hot water is crazy. And $0.95 for oat milk is also not right.
Manager questioned why I thought charging for hot water was wrong. I gave my reason that Starbucks doesn't charge and Tim charges 20cents for the cup. Response back: "well, we're a small business not a mega corp'. Then I said I run small businesses in 4 countries and we never charge for hot water.
Odd conversation.
Could easily have put the hot water in a mug and not a cup! Or if you want to charge for a cup, charge something like 40cents (100% more than what Tim's charges...and no...your costs are not 100% of Tim's so even 40cents is on the high side..but fine...whatever).
Their pricing is wierd as well. 12oz Hot chocolate is I think $4.58 and 16oz is $4.76. So about 20cents for an extra 4 oz. That's a great deal...but if you're using the 'I'm a small business' argument, how do you justify this pricing? Unless you're overcharging for the 12oz, you're making a loss on the 16oz (and of course the pricing/cost is not proportional but this is odd pricing...unless of course you're overcharging in the first place).
Small businesses are competiting with the bigger companies. This does NOT give them the right to use the 'I'm a small business so pay me...
Read moreWe were looking forward to having breakfast here due to the good reviews, but unfortunately it did not meet our expectations.
The cappuccino was not good, but I’m quite picky with coffee, so I gave it to my husband who is not. However, even he had to throw it away because he found it too sour.
He had the brewed coffee, which he found to be fine.
I also ordered the tofu scramble wrap, which they forgot about until I asked 15 minutes later. When I got it, it was warm the first couple of bites, and then cold for the rest of it. It had very little flavour, and the cafe was very busy, so instead of asking them to heat it up some more, I decided to unfortunately throw it away. It just wasn’t worth it. :(
My husband had the acai bowl, which he was also disappointed by (we’ve had better at home). There were very few fresh ingredients used and it again had little flavour.
I ordered the green smoothie (‘tropikal’ I think it’s called?) and it was ok.
I also think it’s a shame that so much plastic (cutlery and straws) is being used, even for stay-in dining.
2 stars instead of 1 because the staff were friendly and the...
Read moreI come here some in a while , I love their coffee and smoothies. The vibe is usually really nice. But sadly I experience a basic service.
Nobody in the coffee shop except for me and two other girls that are being served at the moment when I entered .
The cashier barely looked at me , I ordered specifically what I wanted. And she asked me twice before giving me full attention on my order, while talking to her colleague.
I was trying to pay with my card, and still wasn't giving me attention, so she keep asking me if I was paying cash. But clearly, I was showing her my credit card in my hand. And keep changing the machine for cash instead of leaving it for credit which I was about to pay tap.
They made my coffee really fast , gave it to me and right in the back with all of their colleagues. I said :"thank you and have a nice day" clear and loudly. The tree girl ignore me and didn't reply.
Like I said coffee is good as usual, but this time the service was a little bit mediocre . Hopefully they see this comment and make up for...
