My husband and I went here on new yeas eve at approximately 330pm. The restaurant was not even half full. We made our way to a half circle booth and sat there for several minutes before we were tended to. The waitress then came up and told us we actually couldnt sit there because it was being held for potential parties with more than 2 people who may or may not come in. She slid a laminated " reserved" sign onto the table while talking to us. Oddly enough there was an older couple sitting in the exact same booth right beside the one we had. For a restuarant that clearly didnt have any reservations (and when the restuarant was not even close to being full) to tell us we couldnt sit in a booth when it was not marked prior as unavailable after we had sat there for several minutes waitng to be tended to is ridiculous. I could understand if the table was marked reserved for a reservation coming in... but to tell us we couldnt sit there because there might be a potentially larger group come in while we were there (not even guaranteed) and more than enough ample space available elsewhere for large parties is completely disappointing. The waitress then left us to find another spot without even helping us. We then moved to a new table and waited another several minutes to be tended to and then decided to leave. We wont be coming back to this location after being treated like this. I guess they would rather be ready to tend to potential business that may come in rather than the business that is...
Read moreEdit: we were contacted by the general manager and he gave us a gift card to use for a 2nd chance. We decided to give them another shot today. We had Logan as our server (the same one as before) she was friendly and super helpful tonight, the food was good and the service was amazing. She remembered serving us last time and apologized and thanked us for giving them a 2nd chance. That apology was appreciated 100%. I understand bad shifts can happen and OJ'S went above and beyond to make it right!
If I could give negative stars I would. Food came out under cooked but our server wasn't coming back to the table so we had to track someone down to get her. She responded with " so do want another one or can you eat this" ummm the meat is not cooked please make me a new one. 25 minutes the new burger finally came out. This one was cooked but again our server was no where around. Never asked how our meals were, if we would like another drink. We even had to grab paper towel from the bathroom because she didn't bring napkins. My husband just took his last bite and the she put the bill on the table and wanted us to pay. We were not offered a discount for the undercooked meal. 100% the worse service I have ever received...
Read moreThis used to be our go-to restaurant until they changed suppliers for their vegan chick'n patties. We came to learn from the head office that even though the staff at this location swore the soy chick'n was still vegan, they were sadly mistaken. My husband became quite ill after eating it due to egg/dairy ingredients. Had this been another contamination issue, such as peanuts or sesame, which some of my friends suffer allergies to, the lack of food knowledge could have resulted in a much worse situation. The staff is otherwise great at this location and the ambiance is decent, but especially good on a nice day when you can enjoy the patio. The chain really needs to get their food safety and food knowledge standardized, however, and get the dairy and egg free options back up to snuff. At a time when A & W can cater to a vegan mock-meat-seeking crowd, it really should have been a no-brainer for this company to go with a new supplier who could meet these demands with such an important ingredient. We are now on the lookout for a new "go to" place. I hope we can one day enjoy OJ's again, safe in the knowledge that our ingredients are what we've been...
