My companion and I shared nachos. Best nachos we've had in recent memory!
We then shared one dessert - Churro Ice Cream Sandwich ... Not so good! We were given spoons that could not cut the hot Churro top. Had to use spoons with our fingers to try to cut into this dessert (the Churro was a bit too hot to grab with fingers, but we couldn't cut it any other way). Then things went further downhill - I never saw ice-cream practically disintegrate into a puddle as fast as it did with this dessert. The Churro on top of this ice-cream sandwich was truly hot and, had the ice cream been sufficiently chilled, this would have been a fabulous dessert. (Fried ice-cream would have withstood the heat of the Churro better.) Instead, immediately upon receiving this dessert (we were the first table by the patio entrance as well as seated in the shade), as soon as we pressed down on the hot Churro to cut into it, the ice-cream patty collapsed into a puddle. We continued trying to cut the Churro as it floated around the bowl. What we were left with was sticky slightly burnt fingers and Churro pieces floating in a lake of melted ice cream that was overflowing over the sides of the bowl onto the table. All of this happened before we barely got our first bite of the dessert. Would not order this again, or would make sure we had forks and sharp knives first before getting this ice-cream sandwich in order to be able to cut into it. Eat it very quickly, or expect spoons to be used as soup spoons!
It was a beautiful Friday afternoon when we came here for lunch, so after inquiring at the entrance if the patio is the better choice than indoors for lunch (we were told "yes"), we asked to be seated on the patio, as were most other patrons. Big mistake - it was hellish! Not a fan in sight. It was a warm afternoon and being on a shaded patio should be pleasant, however, this was not the case. While mist sprayers are high end and an expensive addition to a restaurant, couldn't Moxies invest in fans? Even though we were seated by the entrance between the patio and the restaurant, there was absolutely no air movement. This shaded patio, covered with a solid roof as opposed to several umbrellas, was even hotter than the parking lot which at least had a good breeze. It was like eating in a dark overheated cave. This is a good patio for continually ordering cold slushy drinks for survival - that would have been okay. However, we came to eat lunch and it just didn't feel good. Next time, we would ask to be seated in the restaurant, but air-conditioning and indoor eating takes away from what we hoped would be a great summertime patio experience. A bit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy meal was beautiful and delicious i had a Ceaser double followed by a shot of vodka and a pint of beer. I don't remember name of beer but it was superb...... Thier are some very attractive waitresses working at this location as wellš š a range of nationalities honestly it adds to the inner decor of moxies when it's complimented by sexy staff.... as i write this I'm delighted with the fact that drinks were so flawless visually speaking qaurter inch of froth on my 22onz half moon I think. the food which was an appetizer sushi dish dont remember exact name š£ š¤ looked better and different then expected was fresh and delicious š. My friend unfortunately had to return some undercooked sweat potato fries šsoggy fries when there aint no gravy not a good look, but we promptly got a some new fries which were superb. At the bar we had a new waitress working she was nice outgoing generally speaking but were critical both a tad snobbish we had to have another waitress take our dishes away because bartender didnt notice after like 15 minutes we didn't like that but the staff noticed and assisted her so its really not a big deal and nice to see team work in action ultimately food was dope I was happy. Also the bar tender didn't ingage the other dudes and they left after one drink they didn't look happy... I'd say if you want your tips make it happen by servicing your customers through conversation talking finding relatable points and remove empty dishes promptly check in frequently when ppl drink they seek an experience it's more dynamic for them when the bar tender is dynamic don't have long stretches with out ingaging I give them 4 stars because over all I had a good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat place to eat with people AND to eat alone! I came here by myself for lunch as a treat for working hard on my finals at college. I felt very comfortable and welcomed despite only taking a table for one. No one will judge you here at all if you just want to come and expend a bit on yourself š. I was treated like any other customer; kindly and attentively!
Now for the food, super delicious!! I had the roasted tomatoes and whipped feta cheese as a starter because I was super hungry and didnāt have breakfast that morning haha. Really really good! I can see why itās a very popular item. The bread is a perfect blend with the sweeter cheese and citrus from the warm, roasted tomatoes! Definitely something Iāll try make at home too as Iāll crave for it again it eventually š¤£
For my main, I had the Chipotle Mango Chicken. The man who served it to me said it was his favourite dish and I can see why! The chicken was nice and juicy with the right balance of spices that mixed well with the partial coolness of the avocados on top. Iām a big fan of asparagus so I was happy to see I got a good amount with the ancient grains! And the mango purĆ©e was a perfect combination with it all. I will say, Iām not sure if my ancient grains were supposed to be lukewarm?? Still tasted good with everything else though, so no complaints from me!
Iāve been here a few times before with family and friends alike. The nice atmosphere certainly doesnāt change with the amount of people you bring or if you come on your own. Food is great and the prices are reasonable for the delicious food you get! This is my grandparentās favourite place when they come to the city...
