Came here by myself one night after putting the kid to bed, and my husband stayed at the hotel to watch the baby. Was so looking forward to a meal where I can eat at my own pace, in silence. I brought a book to read, and the host sat me behind a big column, with a rickety bar stool, no view and no light. I would have asked to be seated somewhere else, as there were sooooo many empty tables, but no one came to the table for 5-8 minutes, well after I settled in. Someone else, not the host nor my server dropped off the garlic loaf and took off without a word. The server for the section was good once he was able to attend to me, efficient, but didn’t offer any small talk. Being a former server myself, I guessed he was triple sat and the “rhythm” was off. Aside from that, food was good. Loaf was smaller than I recall, tried the seafood linguine marinara - a new item on the menu. And seafood was cooked perfectly. Garden salad was crisp with a balanced portion of dressing, garlic butter for the loaf was excellent as always, and the spumone at the end is always a nice treat. The host saw me leaving, avoided eye contact by looking back down his phone when I walked past and didn’t acknowledge me at all. Would come back here for the food, and hopefully other hosts are better at their jobs.

During our visit to Banff, we enjoyed dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory! We actually went to 2 restaurants prior and were very disappointed with the atmosphere, service, and friendliness. When we arrived, they were very busy. There was a 15 wait we received a text message when our table was ready. Our server was very busy. It took a little while for him to make his way to our table , completely understandable. When he greeted us, he apologized for the wait and was super friendly. He was so nice. It being our first time here we had a few questions about the menue. He was very patient and kind to us . I figured our food would take a little while , it being so busy.... but no, he brought out a mini loaf of bread and butter , then our dinner shortly after , it was really fast . Everything was delicious, better than expected. The price was unbelievable. For a family of 4 , 3 course meals, beer/drinks, and an appetizer, our bill was under $100!!!! It is honestly the best dining experience we had in a while. Great server ✅️ Quality food ✅️ Reasonable price ✅️ 5 🌟 all around !!

Sad to write a bad review for a restaurant I love so much, but after visiting this location on two separate occasions and receiving not the best of service I think it's needed. My partner, my mother and myself visited this location last night(July 27th) and were unsatisfied with our server along with the food we ordered. We asked for refills on our drinks and another loaf of bread, they weren't brought to our table until we managed to flag down our waitress to bring us our bill which was then all brought at once even though we were obviously ready to leave. My pasta and chicken were cold in the center, my partners steak was more fat than meat. Upon realizing, we tried flagging down our waitress to bring the problems to her attention but she rarely came to check on us after being seated and having our order taken by another server who was originally helping ours. I asked for pepper when our meals were brought out, she didn't return with any until I was 2 ravioli away from finishing my plate which kind of defeated the purpose. She stated it being her first night serving alone, but perhaps there could have been a better time besides a busy Saturday night to have your first solo night without asking for help after being overwhelmed with tables. There was no one standing at the front host counter to notify of our bad service when we left the establishment. After this experience and the previous bad visit back in March, I think I'll choose somewhere else while in banff and stick to dining at the other old spaghetti factory locations.

Update - After an amazing experience last time, we visited this place today with high expectations but were disappointed. The servive was too slow. Since it was just two of us, the server was focussed on larger groups. The Garlic Cheese toast was okay and the pasta was good but the Tiramisu was FROZEN and it was served cold. It was so bad that we had to send it back. Chocolate drizzle alone doesn't help to make desserts great. Not sure if we'll be visiting this restaurant next time. **************************** Though running late to reach back home we decided to give this place a try for lunch and it turned out to be a good decision. The staff is very polite and we were served by Mr. Harry. He made us feel very comfortable and we really enjoyed our visit. The bread and garlic butter served in the beginning was amazing and we really enjoyed it. We also ordered Garlic Cheese Toast on Happy Hour menu and it was amazing. The Spaghetti and Roasted Chicken were great and really flavourful. Definitely going back next time we visit Banff.

My recent lunch experience here was a mix of highs and lows. The food was unfortunately underwhelming. I ordered the penne chicken and spaghetti with grilled chicken. While both dishes were adequately prepared, they lacked the robust flavors and creativity that would make them stand out. The penne chicken was a bit bland, and the spaghetti lacked the depth of seasoning I expected. Overall, the dishes were mediocre at best. On the positive side, the service was excellent. The staff were attentive, friendly, and efficient. They took our orders promptly and checked in on us regularly, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Their attentiveness definitely enhanced the dining experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant was a definite highlight. The interior was tastefully decorated, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. The seating was comfortable, and the overall vibe was relaxed, making it a pleasant place to enjoy a meal and conversation.

There’s a long wait to get a table-45mins to and hour easy! So visit them and reserve a table in advance. This place offers a great deal- you get a choice between soup/salad + main course + ice cream for the price of the main course you choose. They also serve bread with butter to begin with. The place is really economical and the portions are also nice. I had issues with the LIIT’s which tasted like lemonade (i.e. no alcohol in them) so we had to send them back. Our server made sure we were served the right drinks and had the bar tender correct them for us. Coming to the food, the bang bang shrimp Is AWESOME, you must order those. I had the carbonara and my partner had the chicken parmigiana. They tasted decent. Their french onion soup wasn’t fresh- I could just taste powder in it. The icecream was a pistachio chocolate ice cream and was really nice. I just didn’t like the fact that we had to wait for so long + the french onion soup was bad.
