Indian Curry House - Banff - A Culinary Gem
On our recent visit to Banff, we had the pleasure of dining at a Indian Curry House - Banff, a charming Indian restaurant nestled in the heart of this beautiful mountain town.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and the tantalizing aromas of authentic Indian spices wafting through the air. Our dining experience here was nothing short of spectacular, making it a must-visit spot for anyone in Banff.
Food Quality: A Flavorful Journey
The food quality at Indian Curry House - Banff is simply amazing. We started our meal with a plate of Dosa, a South Indian delicacy that was perfectly crisp on the outside and deliciously soft on the inside. The accompanying sambar and coconut chutney were fresh and bursting with flavors, setting the tone for the culinary delights to follow.
Next, we indulged in a variety of vegetarian curries. Each dish was a masterpiece, showcasing the rich and diverse palette of Indian cuisine. The Mutter Paneer, Dal tadka stood out with its creamy texture and balanced spices, fragrant basmati rice.
A special mention goes to the Gol Gappa (also known as Pani Puri). These crispy, hollow puris filled with tangy tamarind water and a mix of potatoes and chickpeas were an explosion of flavors with every bite. It's rare to find such authentic street food quality in a restaurant setting, and Indian Curry House - Banff delivered it flawlessly.
Beverages: Perfect Accompaniment
While the food was the highlight, the beverages did not disappoint either. We enjoyed their coffee, which was surprisingly good for an Indian restaurant, offering a rich and smooth flavor that was a perfect end to our meal. It was evident that they pay attention to every detail, ensuring that every part of the dining experience is exceptional.

The ambience at Indian Curry House - Banff is cozy and inviting. The decor is a tasteful blend of traditional Indian elements and modern touches, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Whether you are dining with family, friends, or even solo, the restaurant offers a welcoming space to enjoy a meal.

The staff at Indian Curry House - Banff were exceptionally polite and attentive, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Special thanks to Fatesh Bhai, whose warm hospitality and friendly demeanor truly enhanced our dining experience. If you like Indian Food, please don't go here, you will be highly disappointed.
My experience is mentioned below:
We ordered Bhalla Papdi Chaat, Butter Paneer Masala, Dal Tadka, Roti and Mango Lassi.
The table behind us who came 30 minutes after us got their appetizers however we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for our Bhalla Papdi Chaat to come. After we waited this long, after reminding the server 3 times, he brought us the appy, it was the worst chaat ever of my life, it had No taste, no look, so we had to return it to the server.
After another 30 minutes so basically almost 1 hour and 45 minutes after, he brought our main course, instead of Butter Paneer, he served us Butter Chicken, what a big mistake, we are strict vegetarian and how someone can make this big mistake so they took it back and brought butter paneer out in few minutes.
We asked for butter Roti, he brought plain roti so he had to take the rotis back and apply butter to it and came back, by that time Rotis were cold!!! How disappointing.
Then our Dal Tadka came, actually they should rename it to Water Tadka, it had less dal however it was full of water, also it was served cold, so we returned it back.
Almost waiting 2 hours and 15 minutes, we decided to leave the place.
They charged us only for the rotis and Curry.
They did apologize to us however think about us, our experience, we went their for the first time and the experience, taste, service was Terrible and horrible.
They lacked communication, management, customer service and No taste at all.
I really feel, avoid this place at all cost if you want to have good Indian food, Masala Cuisine in Banff is better then this, at least good taste and...
Read moreThis was a fabulous experience with the most superb, tasty goat curry, fish curry, and mind blowing dosas! You must have the dosas. We tried the masala dosas which came out quick and hot not too long after ordering. It goes with the dipping sauce and traditional sambar. All vegetarian. The dosa was stuffed with a delightful, savory potato and cauliflower. Not too wet as to dampen the lentil flour casing. It was cooked golden brown with crispy edges. Just delightful we couldn’t get enough and ordered another. The curry were so perfect with balanced flavor. The only thing you might not enjoy is there is a lot of black pepper I believe in both the fish and goat curry that makes it spicy for those who cannot handle the heat. But it is a different spiciness than chili peppers. I also tried the salt lassi which I much prefer to sweet lassi. What was special about their is that it was topped with a spice blend that was pungent and have it an extra aroma and flavor. What I can tell you is that they did not skimp on flavor. The sauces were absolute perfection. Often you get curries that are watered down in other places, but our curries were so good we needed bread and rice to savor every bit of the sauce, and in fact enjoyed the sauce even without eating the meat. So worth it. One other draw back is that it was up a steep single flight of stairs which would make it difficult for someone with mobility issues. However, it might be worth seeing if you could order to go and have them bring the food down for you of access is a concern. Make haste and visit Indian Curry...
