This is one popular ice-cream shop in Banff. There is always a long queue outside the shop. We were lucky to find it rather empty and devoid of a queue at 10 plus in the morning. Jumping at that opportunity, we got ourselves an ice-cream on a cone. We tried the Pei apple crisp and the goey mooey. The icecream was sooooo good and I can now understand the reason behind the queues. The shop in itself sells more than just awesome ice-cream. There are a lot of interesting and cute merchandise. I love the tee-shirts that they sell. Everything was obviously cow related. Even if you don’t like ice-cream (does anyone not like ice-cream), you should still visit the shop to browse the other things they have.

Came here for a quick dessert while walking on the main street in Banff. It was busy with about 10 people in line, but it moved quickly with the large amount of workers scooping the orders. There's probably 20-30 flavors to choose from with some being special features flavors. You can choose from scoops in a cup or cone, milkshake, or a sundae. I ordered 2 scoops in a cup to try some different flavors. Ice cream was silky smooth and melted in your mouth. Service was fast and friendly, but never made anyone feel rushed to decide on their order. Not much room to eat inside, so enjoyed the ice cream on the benches right outside.

I recently visited cows Banff with a fiancé at 8pm today , and unfortunately, it wasn't the experience we were hoping for. Although we arrived an hour before closing time, the staff seemed completely uninterested in assisting us. As soon as we walked in, the employees exchanged looks, almost as if we were an inconvenience for showing up so late. There was no greeting or acknowledgment, which made the whole atmosphere feel unwelcoming. We were left to awkwardly stand at the counter as they continued their conversation, not offering any help or even a smile. It was clear that the staff were ready to wrap up for the day, and it was reflected in their lack of enthusiasm. While I understand that it's close to closing time, I’ve never encountered such an indifferent attitude from an ice cream shop before. We wanted to try some ice cream as it seemed to be the same famous ice cream shop in whistler BC. It’s a shame, as I had heard good things about the place, but I don’t think I’ll be coming back anytime soon if the staff’s attitude doesn’t improve. A little more energy and kindness would go a long way in making customers feel welcome, even at the end of the day.

Monday, August 29th at around 530-6pm. Got 2 flavors. Not quite sure of their exact names but I will give it a go. Cookies monster and mint ice cream. In my opinion, they were both not so great. The cookie monster had a tint of blue with pieces of cookie dough. The ice cream itself was tasteless. Not even the slightest hint of vanilla.. Luckily the cookie was good.. and the mint ice cream with chocolate was served to me melted or it simply wasn't hard enough yet the girl that was serving it me who also seemed like she didn't want to be there was careless and served it to me anyways. See photo. Believe it or not, I had 2 scoops in there. The mint flavored ice cream with chocolate was at the bottom. Needless to say, I won't he coming back to this ice cream shop the next time we visit Banff, Alberta.

Ice cream itself, pretty good. Comparable to a higher end mcdonalds or dairy queen but with more flavour. Waffle cones are good too. Scoops are small, like barely over the top of the cone but I guess your mileage may vary. Service itself - terrible. Staff, somewhat friendly - like what you get from people who don't care about their job but put on a fake face. Service itself is extremely inefficient. Literally sat waiting for like for 10-15 minutes being next in line while the line behind me grew and grew while 2 people behind the counter could serve one guy who ordered 2 doubles cones. I think Cow's would really benefit from some just in time (JIT) framework to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs. Their supply chain management is terrible.

Staff was friendly, icecream was good, and the flavors were original, however the waffle cones weren't great (the "cone to icecream ratio" was off, even for the double scoop due to it not being packed into the cone itself, making the end of the experience dry towards the end), the line was pretty slow moving, and it was pretty costly for what you actually get (Like everything you buy in banff, to be fair). Regardless of all of this I would consider coming back, but wouldn't be devastated if for some reason I couldn't, only for the reason that I would much rather be doing outdoor activities, rather than shopping.
