Excellent. Superb. Dazzling. Would definitely go back next time in Banff. They don’t take reservations. My wife and I came down for Valentine’s Day. Got a spot for two immediately at the bar. Watched the people make the food. We love water. Ordered the Pear and Fennel salad and The Godfather pizza. Salad delighted our lil’ tastebuds. A barely-there vinagarette amplified the delightful pear poached in water and infused with cinnamon and maple syrup. The pear was the true all-star. Supported by fig slices, lightly candied pecans, and bulb of fennel. Perhaps the most interesting move was the tomatoe- amidst a sea of new and exotic, they added simple cherry tomatoes- you can always come back to the tomatoes. The pizza satisfied the carnal man. It was one pizza, not a compilation of toppings and crust. It was one, perfected. Fancy olives, while roasted garlic cloves, cheese, sauce, pruscuttio. The waitress warned us that it was “salty” in not sure why she did that. Of course it’s salty. And I loved the salt. The crust was unique and worked: it wasn’t a classic neopolitan crust, they added sugar and the outside edge was interestingly crackery in a good way. They surprised us with honey and oil for dipping- definitely a great addition. Honey on pizza is one trend I have gotten behind. The TVs were a little in my grill, but it’s a bar I suppose. The Valentines special was a heart shaped pepperoni pizza— we were not distracted by such silliness. CA ~$20 for the pizza. CA$15 for the salad. Spent an hour there or so, no rush.

Bear Street Tavern Pizza. Banff, Alberta, Canada. Nestled in the enchanting town of Banff, Alberta, Canada, against the backdrop of the majestic Canadian Rocky Mountains, the Bear Street Tavern is a delightful haven for pizza lovers. The picturesque surroundings add to the overall dining experience, making it a truly memorable visit. The Bear Street Tavern boasts an extensive selection of canned beers and beers on tap, providing ample choices for the beer enthusiasts. However, it is their pizza that steals the show. From classic favorites like margherita and pepperoni to innovative combinations of toppings, the menu offers a delightful array of flavors to satisfy every palate. The service at Bear Street Tavern is commendable, with our waitress, Peggy, setting the bar high with her professionalism, friendliness, and helpfulness. Our food was promptly served, arriving hot, fresh, and tantalizingly tasty. The ambiance exudes a cozy, informal charm that immediately puts patrons at ease. The option of indoor and alfresco dining adds a touch of versatility, allowing guests to relish the experience regardless of the weather. In conclusion, the Bear Street Tavern is a must-visit for those seeking an exceptional pizza dining experience. With its delectable offerings, warm ambiance, and top-notch service, this establishment comes highly recommended.

Tied for the best meal I had on my two week holiday across Western Canada. And certainly the best lunch by far! We stopped in Banff on our way back to Calgary from Jasper to see the town one last time. We had quite a bit of time so we decided to have lunch and the place we picked wasn’t open until dinner time. The Bear Street Tavern was next-door. What a lucky surprise?! We sat in the courtyard outside and it was charming. The team waiting on us couldn’t be more pleasant or helpful. It’s not a huge menu, which we actually quite liked and I had the Tavern bowl, which was a super tasty kale based vegan salad. I had a chicken because I’m not a vegan, and this salad was incredibly good. The dressing with sublime, the taste and balance of flavour amazing. And it was huge, my husband and I could’ve shared it easily. My husband had the sub sandwich and it was so good really fresh wonderful Italian Chili peppers. I’m originally from New York and that sub sandwich looked really authentic. Did not have big expectations, and I loved this place . I would say it was more lunch than dinner but depends on what mood you’re in and how much food you had all day but you won’t go hungry here and they also do pizza .

We ordered pineapple juice for our 2-year-old today. After drinking the juice, within 10-15 minutes, his face and the back of his neck became very red, and his body temperature seemed higher than usual. He doesn’t have an allergy to pineapple juice, as we regularly give him pineapple. We suspect there may have been alcohol in the juice, or the pineapple was expired (it didn’t smell fresh).

The server showed us the pineapple juice pump container, which resembled a cocktail dispenser, and there was no label indicating when it expired. We spoke to the assistant manager at the restaurant, who told us the juice was new and had been opened that day. When we asked to see the expiration date on the container, he checked three times and eventually opened a new can of pineapple juice in front of us. When we asked about the date on the juice they had served us, he changed his story and said he wasn’t sure when the can was opened.

We called an ambulance and the police. Thankfully, after two hours, our child returned to normal, but we wasted the entire day because of their mistake.

No one from the staff or management apologized or took responsibility for the situation. They did not take the incident seriously (the manager only said they were very busy). The customer service was very poor; the server ignored our attempts to communicate. There were no labels or clear information about the juice’s freshness and...
