We recently purchased three Pork Kappa Biryanis, one puff, and three Mulakku Bajis from this restaurant. Unfortunately, our experience was highly disappointing.
First, the service was extremely slow. It took a long time for someone to take our order, and when the food was finally handed over, the staff had forgotten to include the puff and Mulakku Bajis. I had to remind them about the missing items. Such inattentiveness is unacceptable in a professional establishment.
As for the food, the Kappa Biryani was the worst we’ve ever had. It consisted mostly of kappa (tapioca) with barely any pork. To make matters worse, we overheard the staff mentioning that they had run out of Kappa Biryani and had simply mixed pork curry with kappa before serving it to us. This is not how Kappa Biryani is meant to be prepared, and the result was an unappetizing dish.
Moreover, customer service was poor. The staff at the counter were unfriendly and lacked basic courtesy, making the experience feel like a “buy and leave” transaction rather than a welcoming dining experience. A restaurant should prioritize customer satisfaction, but that was clearly not the case here.
This is not the first time we have had issues with this restaurant. During our previous visit, we ordered Chicken Mandi and tea, both of which were extremely disappointing. The tea was terrible, and the so-called “Mandi” did not resemble authentic Mandi in any way.
Overall, the quality of both food and service has deteriorated significantly. Based on our recent experiences, we cannot recommend this...
Read moreFrom the moment I stepped into 705 Cravings, I knew I was in for something special. Greeted warmly by friendly staff and the rich, mouthwatering aroma of spices, the experience began on a high note. The restaurant’s cleanliness and inviting atmosphere further set the stage for what turned out to be a memorable culinary journey.
Unfamiliar with the menu but eager for something authentic, I was guided by helpful staff toward a selection of South Indian specialties—and their recommendations did not disappoint. The pork fry struck a perfect balance of heat and savoury flavour, while the chicken curry was beautifully seasoned, bold, and deeply satisfying. The beef roast, tender and rich, rounded out the trio with its comforting warmth and depth.
If there was one misstep, it was my own: I only ordered one egg puff. Flaky, perfectly spiced, and downright addictive—it left me instantly wishing I’d ordered three more.
705 Cravings offers an exceptional taste of South India at a very reasonable price point. Whether you’re a seasoned lover of the cuisine or a curious newcomer, it’s a dining experience worth revisiting. I’ll certainly be back—next time, with a bigger appetite.

Read moreGem 💎 restaurant for Kerala food. It was our first time visiting when in Barrie. Merits: Porotta and beef roast is absolutely delicious 🤤! I’m still drooling when I think of their porotta and beef. It is better than the restaurants I had tried in GTA. Kalyana Biriyani is good but not great. I have had similar/ better versions in Scarborough. Tea is really good too. Not a machine tea and they do make strong tea as per our preference. Cons: Wait time is insane! It was crowded and we came back around 12.30 am to eat the food because we wanted to try this restaurant before leaving Barrie. The tables and chairs are long benches. I would recommend to add few 2 to 4 people seating too so this way crowd management can be done during peak hours and more people can dine in. Apart from taking orders, serving food and getting bill, I would recommend you to take customer feedback and ask if they would prefer to order something more or if they were satisfied with order etc. this will definitely add value to your business.
Much appreciate the great food served. Will definitely visit again....
