Freaky Wizard — Restaurant in Barrie

The Freaky Wizard has become a regular hang out spot for me and my friends as this is my favourite cafe in town. I bring all my out-of-town friends here just so they can experience this unique spot. Everyone who enters the Freaky Wizard is hit by pure joy, as the walls of board games and the on-theme decor hits you with such nostalgia. This place is a geek's paradise.

If you stop by, you will be greeted by the most lovely and welcoming staff. The owners, Joem and Jamie, are absolutely delightful. The food is great (I highly recommend the grilled ham and cheese with a pickle on the side) and their drink menu is top-notch and just as unique as the cafe itself.

I am a regular at their Wednesday night trivia battles which are usually packed and so much fun! If you want to go, you must book in advance once they announce the topic on Instagram/Facebook.

The walls of board games are a great way to spend an evening or afternoon with friends. There is also a shop for geeky items, a book shop, a party room, and even an escape room!

The Freaky Wizard truly has everything. It is such a magical place amd definitely worth a visit (or many visits) to experience all the cafe...

Came to check out what this new place was all about, we were welcomed warmly by the owners, and after a small conversation, they showed us around. It's a very modern and spacious place with many great decor, plenty of tables and chairs so if you want to hang out they also have a shelf full of boardgames or you can lounge and relax in their cozy chairs and fireplace area. They offer a convenient selection of pop and juices for now and what looks like a future cafe bar that will be serving magical drinks and potions.. As you head to the back, there's a retail area, a gold mine for some one of a kind pieces of toys and collectibles that will bring many fond childhood memories , pure nostalgic feelings🥰 This establishment is a definite must-see, and I guarantee you'll be returning

My sister niece and I found this place on accident and it's really cute. It's a genius place that could easily inspire more family game nights or games with friends. They also offer game rental and seem to have everything plus it's all good prices too. People dont want to buy a bunch of games since it takes up storage but you can easily be down to play them and rent them. Definitely going in for their unlimited gaming. I've only gotten to try a drink from their menu I want to go back for their foods, everything looked good and fresh and my drink was delicious it was like an oreo milkshake. Next time I go I'm going to order some food there with family or friends or even a cute date game night and just indulge in games I've missed for years. If you get stressed out too, it could be a great place to get away eat something and sit and play with lego without anyone judging you for making miniature minecraft scenes. Love this place and how it inspires beautiful things. People should be spending more time physically around the people we love and doing things more in real time. Love this...
