My husband and I stopped in here for lunch yesterday for the first time. The gentleman who was working gave us a warm welcome when we arrived, and after we told him we had never been there before he showed us what he had on the hot table and also what other items he had that were available for lunch. I decided on the lasagna which came with one meatball, and my husband had the pasta with sausage. We also purchased a can of iced tea, and a small carton of milk to drink. The food was DELICIOUS! The portions were large, the pasta wasn't over cooked and the sauce was so good my husband said he should have asked for a straw to drink up every drop of sauce on his plate. I hesitate writing this, as the people who served me were very nice and I know the business has been in Barrie for a long time, but the truth should be known.

A sad, cold, soggy veal sandwich. with 7 pieces of sour mushrooms, a few strips of soggy peppers and a thin sprinkle of shredded, un-melted cheese smothered in a cold fishy tomato brine. The 'veal' was grey and chewy. I gagged after my first bite, the meat had gone bad. It was completely inedible, leaving me queasy for the rest of the day. I was going to let this pass as they're a local family establishment, until I got stomach sick that night from food poisoning.
So, heads up, this was the worst dining experience I've had in awhile. It was like they served me something they found in a dumpster. It was a Monday afternoon so I can only assume they served me meat from the week prior.
If you want a real veal sammy, go to the Original...
Read moreAbsolutely Amazing 👏 Cassano's Italian Restaurant brings the traditional homemade meals with heart and passion to an empty stomach aching for the comfort foods that takes you back to the Sunday afternoon feasts. Salvatore shares his passion for cooking as he takes over for the passing of his dad, keeping the tradition alive for home-cooked Italian Foods. Our guests and I ( 6 in total ) were amazed by the freshness, quality, quantity and especially the prices for what order and there was still more than enough for our guests of 3 to take home and have still have enough more to eat the next day. In today's Inflation and Greednation, Cassano's stands above those factors with price, freshness, quality, and quantity. It was a pleasure meeting you Salvatore and it even more of a pleasure eating the food you created for me, my family and my guest, it was amazing especially to hear no one complained about the food and that's says more than words...
