I had been to this restaurant before when it was Diamond Sushi. Do not confuse the 2 this is not Diamond it is now Sakura Izakaya, I definitely miss Diamond! We arrived with a group of 7 and immediately ordered because we were so hungry. As soon as they started bringing out our food we saw a bug which absolutely was a small cockroach run from under one of the dishes then under the table! We all freaked out a bit but had just had our food delivered and chose to eat it because we were all so hungry. We were all disappointed because nothing tasted as it should. The mackerel sashimi was extremely dry and tasted strange, definitely not like I've had before. I didn't eat it, the hot and sour soup tasted and smelled like actual vomit, we had to have it removed from the table as we couldn't stand the smell. Again I've never tasted a hot and sour soup like this. Also the cheese wontons did not taste like they usually do. Some ppl didn't mind them but everyone thought the sauce was off. It was not the experience we expected and we will definitely not be back! In regards to service... it may be their custom but I've never had a server stand there the whole time and stare at you like a security guard when you eat, it was kind of awkward. But this might be their way of making sure they are there when you need them. The service wasn't horrible, but the food could have been much better. They also charged my 10 year old daughter the full price for all you can eat when she only ordered a single dish for herself. We were not impressed to...
Read moreWent here today for lunch with my mom for the all you can eat... for the "too long didn't read" let me summarize first - STAY AWAY unless you wanna be sick hours later. - you want good food, staff and Atmosphere go to Sakana House.
Let me break it down.
Atmosphere- terrible, the decor is dated, the seating is uncomfortable, bathrooms are tiny and filthy. You seat yourself - that's fine. Music was way to loud.
Food- the all you can eat menu is so small and lacking variety. For a Asian restaurant it was very much an almost "hope you like sushi and that's it", I love sushi and was excited for another place. But the sushi was awful, the rice was to sweet and dry, and honestly I have had better bought from Zehrs. The salmon sushi left a horrible taste and film in my mouth and wasn't very fresh tasting. The cheese wontons tasted like ones I buy at a grocery store as did the spring rolls. The udon was bland and just over all disgusting as were the 'chinese fried noodles' and 'chicken fried rice'.
Price- way over priced for such a small menu.
Overall I say don't waste your time, money or gut health here. Both my mom and I have been fighting a severe headache and nausea after eating. And I have pretty bad stomach cramps. Feels like food...
Read moreMy friends and I went for AYCE on Sunday for dinner. On the table there is a note saying we only have 1.5hrs to eat. Totally understandable, and definitely enough time. We sat down, waited and no tablet to order. After 10 mins they finally gave us one. We ordered. Soup and salad came out fast. Waited 30 mins for our sushi rolls. We noticed the restaurant is very under staff. Probably 4-5workers, running around like a headless chicken. We felt bad, so we try not to bother them, we sat and waited hoping our food would eventually come out. But after 30 mins, we finally asked a waiter and she told us we had to reorder. The owner kept giving us dirty looks, like why are you not done. We didn't even get all of the food from our first order after 1.5hrs!!! Our first order was literally soup and salad, tempura veggies and sushi!!! Maybe instead of giving us dirty looks, come over and ask if we got everything. I understand they're really busy and we tried to be patient and nice about it. But when the owner came over and told us to order dessert because she wants us out, (after we spent most of our time waiting instead of eating) is incredibly ignorant and bad customer service. I will never go to diamond sushi again, for...
