Don's Bakery of Barrie — Restaurant in Barrie

I wanted to try the baked goods from Don's Bakery Muskoka sold at my local Food Basics in Dundas St. in Etobicke, ON. I thought I would take a look at their online reviews before deciding (May 1st 2024).

The very first review I came upon was from Jennifer Riddell-Metzler (2 weeks prior). Jennifer complained about not getting much fruits in the hot cross buns she purchased at "Walmart". Jennifer submitted photos of the buns and of the packaging. Fair enough I thought. I wonder what the "response from Owner" would be.

Response from the owner, "Hi Jennifer. Our hot cross buns are not available at Walmart so you must have bought another brand. Please consider changing your review as it affects our overall score. Thank you."

Dear "owner" did you view Jennifer's photo's? Jennifer may have gotten the grocery store name wrong but she did buy your product (please see pics). If you had taken the time to view the pics you wouldn't have left the response that you did.

Here's a suggestion, I think it would fair for you to address Jennifer's concerns in her review... after all the hot cross buns were made at...

Picked up my order from the Toronto location and was initially disappointed that there was a mix up with my plain butter tarts (I received raisin instead). But the owner was so kind and generously offered me a sample giant butter tart and apple crisp that they had prepared as a sample item for their restaurant client. I was so grateful! And the treats were both so delicious! We are regular customers and just love their delicious baked goods! ...

You have not had a chicken or beef pot pie until you’ve tried Don’s bakery! the quality and consistency is unmatched. Perfect for a fall day that reminds of your grandmothers comfort food. And don’t get me started on the apple fritters from their seasonal Bala store, these scrumptious treats do not last long in our household.
