Minh’s is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Barrie as of the date of this review. Certainly top two in my view and a fantastic addition to this city.
I got (i) fried spring rolls and (ii) rare beef and beef ball pho. These are my go-to menu items at all Vietnamese restaurants so it’s easy to compare.
The fried spring rolls are delightfully crisp in a light and thin kind of way, not overcooked and hard. Sadly the filling lacks flavour - not sure I’ll be ordering this again.
As for the pho, the broth is quite good and has all the right garnishments. The broth makes or breaks a bowl of pho so this is important. The beef balls are fine but a slightly mushy, I generally prefer the ones with some tendon in them.
The bun bo hue is okay, a little bit on the mild side and lacking the diversity of toppings you would expect in the GTA.
The rice dishes are also tasty. They use broken rice which is a great texture and absorbs the fish sauce very well.
Finally, the service at Minh’s is great. Our waiter was very friendly and even helped pack up our leftovers. Definitely worth supporting these guys!
Minh’s is not perfect but definitely above-average by Barrie standards. I like to keep my ratings consistent across the board rather than adjust them for local standards, hence the 3-star rating. Minh’s is a great choice for Vietnamese food in Barrie.
Thank you Minh’s for bringing quality Vietnamese food...

I recently visited this pho restaurant, and it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. The moment you walk in, the rich aroma of simmering broth fills the air, making you eager to dive into a steaming bowl of pho.
The broth was incredibly flavorful—light, yet packed with depth from hours of careful simmering. Each sip was a perfect balance of savory and aromatic spices. The noodles were perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of chewiness. I especially loved how fresh the herbs, bean sprouts, and lime wedges were, allowing me to customize each bite to my taste.
The beef was tender, thinly sliced, and incredibly delicious. They also offer a variety of options for all tastes—whether you prefer brisket, meatballs, chicken, or a vegetarian option, there’s something for everyone.
The service was friendly and efficient, and the ambiance had a cozy, authentic feel that made the experience even better. Portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality.
If you’re craving a warm, hearty, and authentic bowl of pho, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreMy partner and I found Minh's online and ordered take out for dinner tonight. The website is fairly easy to navigate and easy to order. I think we'll try dine in next time as the food was tasty enough but not very hot. The chicken vermicelli (Bún Thịt Nướng, Chả Giò) and the Vietnamese spring rolls (Chả Giò) were quite good and they were generous portions. The fresh spring rolls (Gỏi Cuốn Tôm) were good, and the dipping sauce was pleasantly unique. The only disappointment was the Banh Mi sandwich (Bánh Mì Thịt Ba Chỉ). Firstly, it arrived unwrapped in a paper bag, so it was cold, and the contents weren't all in the sandwich, and it was unexpectedly small. That being said, for $8 it wasn't a huge disappointment, but it didn't make for a full meal compared to the vermicelli meal at twice the price. I picked up the food at the restaurant and the dining room looks very appealing. We really appreciated the environmentally friendly packaging as well! Good service, pleasant interaction. Will...
