Wimpy's Diner — Restaurant in Barrie

I am very disappointed with how this restaurant has turned out. I have been going to the wimpys on younge st almost all my life, they knew me by name, new my order, knew my family when they would visit from over seas. It used to be so inviting. I have issues with eating certain things, when I first started coming here the waitress gave me some tips on how I should order my food so it wouldn't affect me. It was brilliant and never had an issue I finally found somewhere I could eat. Now when I walk through the door the blonde waitress immediately roles her eyes, she barley says a word and trys to pawn my table to another waitress if there's one available. She doesn't speak pleasantly when I give my order, she makes a displeased face. Says nothing after and walks away. Then you hear a coworker say what's that face for? She doesn't come back till much after the meal is done to offer drink refills. You can also hear her and coworker complaining about their jobs, and customers behind the counter or where the coffee area is. Constant complaining. When she brings the food out she is silent and says nothing. When the bill comes it gets put the furthest on the table away from me. This place used to have such a warm atmosphere. Now you wait 15 to 20 mins after being seated to get your order taken. Only for the food to arrive nothing like you've ordered it. I even walked out once because I waited 30 mins to have my order taken when there was only one other table in service. I am so disappointed. There is one waitress who I hope is working when I do go in shes the ideal waitress and extremely accommodating but I've only see her maybe 2 times. She's a Burnett and has a peircing. I pick up deliveries here all the time.. probably at least 50 times to be honest as Ive been doing deliveries in Barrie fullltime for the past 3 years and every single time I come into this establishment they treat and talk to me like a second class citizen. I’ve never felt the need to review them but this time, I was absolutely compelled to because the level of respect with the customer service is disgusting.

I came in and a young woman approached me with a blank face and simply said “What are you here for?..” Like seriously? That’s how you interact with people? What’s the excuse? I’m a delivery person so I’m exempt from receiving at least sub par customer service?

Let me remind you, delivery people are picking up orders on the customers BEHALF so you should be treating delivery people just as you would treat your patrons that come in and have a seat in your restaurant! And also, I’m a person as well and I have a family and we are potential customers as well but now I don’t think we will ever come and give this place our business with what...

Been going for here for more years than I can remember.Was always my go to place when I really wanted a good value big breakfast or lunch/dinner. I would be ok with higher prices but plate size/portions have shrunk as well. When you establish a portion size it doesnt matter , people will pay more. But to increase the price AND give you less food ....not cool. Feel really disappointed in the restaurant business. This is not the time to take advantage of the people that put you where you are and supported you all these years. It should be the opposite. I know the price of food has gone up and am willing to pay to compensate for that. But to shrink the portion size as well....
