Stopped in to Siagon Delights for lunch with my wife and we weren't greeted with a smile or a hello. A gentleman told us to chose where we wanted to sit and that was fine. He then brought us menus and walked away. He came back a few minutes after and asked if we were ready. Luckily we had an idea of what we were going to order beforehand thanks to Google. Our appetizer, Green Onion Cakes, came out fast and was fresh, delicious and hot! They definitely hit. Our dishes came out 5-10 minutes after and looked amazing. I ordered the Seafood & Mixed Vegetables Stir-fried Rice Noodle dish (#63). The portion size was more than fair and the taste was on point 👌🏾 All flavor notes were correct. Our server was not communicating with us at all and that ruined the experience. No eye contact, smiles, head nodding or anything and that's unfortunate because the food was great. Kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place on this spot. Not sure we would visit again but I'd definitely like to thank the chef for the quality 👏🏾

The decor inside had a nostalgic vibe, and it seemed like the restaurant had been open for quite a long time, but it was still clean and tidy. Special Beef Noodle Soup is a Vietnamese beef noodle soup in beef broth with medium rare beef, well done beef and beef meatballs. The bowl contained onions and spring onions and was served with bean sprouts, Thai basil and fresh lemon on the side. We could not believe how clear the broth was, but it was filled with a rich, savory beef aroma that was not too heavy or overly salty. It must have taken a lot of effort and time to prepare. We also ordered Grilled Chicken Vermicelli Bowl. The grilled chicken was served on vermicelli with bean sprouts, shredded lettuce, cucumber and pickled carrots. A bottle of their special fish sauce was provided as well. Mixing everything together gave the dish a balanced taste.

They have decent spring rolls that tastes the same as most other Vietnamese restaurants (basic, nothing special) however their meat was just okay, nothing to wow me in any way. The size of the platter was okay in the sense of the noodles but the amount of meat you receive is definitely nowhere near most other places that I've gone. The shrimp was probably the tastiest part of it, and it took my boyfriend a significant amount of bites in to realize that there was even cucumber and I don't believe the carrots were pickled at all. The price we paid for the meat we received definitely didn't equal out. It's difficult to return to a place like this when I can get a mountain of meat and a container twice the size for the same price at a different location and be blown away by the taste.

Tried this place on a recommendation, we walked in and the owner (older gentlemen) I presume just stared at us. I pointed to a table and nothing, said for 2 please and he said pick wherever. This place is dark inside and the booths are old and duct-taped together. He came by, dropped off menus and walked away. Maybe it is just him, but zero friendliness or customer service. He came, took our order (was very rushed) food came, it was fine, sauce is in little packets and limited to 2 of each. Simple pho and satay and the price was okay. We sat for a while waiting for him to come over, but he was sitting on his phone behind the desk. We went up to pay and ask for take out containers for our left overs and he was visibly annoyed that we even asked. He charged us for the containers and just stared at us again. We promptly cleaned up and left. We will not be back. We were hoping since this was close it would work for a great option as we love veitnamese food, but we will continue to go to the various edmonton restaurants with better customer service, atmosphere and food.

We weren't looking for a smiling, bubbly host, but at least someone who didn't feel annoyed they had to work and get off their phone.

Much better...

I pre-ordered an hour beforehand. Something as simple as a vermicelli bowl and spring rolls. I only had a half an hour for lunch and the drive alone takes 10 to 12 minutes one way. I got there at 1:09, paid for my order and was told they were just finishing up my spring rolls. I said I ordered an hour ago for 1:10 pm. He casually said "sorry, we're only human" to which I replied "and I only have so long for my lunch break", hence the pre-ordering. It then took 10 more minutes for my order to be ready. I went outside to grab my phone and my order was on the counter when I got back. I grabbed it to leave and the waiter ever so smugly told me to have a GREAT day. I didn't respond to which he then says "take CARE" in the same snide tone. I've worked in Cust. Service, I know exactly what you're telling me to do...I just turned around and said "same to you". Wasn't super busy in there, perhaps they just had a lunch rush but the attitude was completely unnecessary as was not having it ready on time. I have no problem admitting if I was being a Karen, I was not in this situation. Just rude. Food...
