HARVEST | Clean Eats (Bedford) — Restaurant in Bedford

This is a fantastic farm-to-table concept and so very needed in Bedford area. The food was delicious, so many healthy options, and really great atmosphere. Love the outdoor patio, cute and trendy decor. Long wait when they are busy but worth it! I would love to go back and try their brunch and also their smoothies!

I couldn’t give 5 stars because both times I have visited, it felt like the staff have not even acknowledged that we’re in the middle of a pandemic and our province is in a state of emergency. Staff not wearing masks or gloves when preparing food, zero distancing between customers/staff and nobody at the door to ensure people don’t pile in (there were likely 50 ppl in the small space while I was waiting for my food). They have stickers on the floor that nobody notices. I was surprised to see things like forks that customers grab from a communal bin. I planned to eat in, however while waiting for my food, I noticed no staff were cleaning tables between customers and new customers unknowingly sat at used tables twice. I’ve tried to go back but driving by I’ve seen nothing has changed and I’m not comfortable waiting for my food in a crowd like that. I’m usually pretty comfortable about being in public during the pandemic, but even i was a little thrown by these experiences. I really hope it changes because I do hope to visit again soon.

UPDATE! I visited again today and there were so many more social distancing measures in place. Tables farther apart, people distancing and a staff diligently cleaning tables. I’m so happy to see these measures in place, can’t wait to frequent this beautiful spot. Plus, the Harvest Bowl was amazing. Changed my score...

My wife and I went today along with our son (he's 3) and ordered a Kale caesar salad, coconut curry bowl and a banana and straw berry smoothie. Both of the bowls were excellent. really delicious and great combinations of flavors. The smoothie was kind of lacking a bit, certainly for the price ($6.50 for a kids smoothie).

The atmosphere and concept are great. The swing seating is really nice to have and good for people to come in and grab their food and have a nice ambiance.

The issue (and ultimately why I'm giving the review that I am) is the wait time. It took nearly 40 minutes to get our food and it wasn't really that busy at the time. There was about 12 employees working with one young kid pumping out as much food as he could on the food preparation end. However, he was really the only person dedicated to food preparation. There was another guy who was helping out with it here and there, but wasn't really focused on it. There were many staff members who were standing around by the back drive thru window, not prepping food and not prepping drinks. Full credit to the young kid who was working his tail off but there's only so much one person can do. When I inquired about the wait and if it was typical, the staff seemingly had no idea what was going on.

User experience was severely underwhelming. Upon driving up for the first time, intending to go through the drive-through, no menu was present.

As I made my way inside it was extremely cramped and hard to tell who was ordering and who was waiting.

The font on the menus was tiny, and thus I had figure out what to order only once I was actively speaking to the cashier. Leading to an anxious, unwanted experience even before the food came out.

The ordering system clearly needs to be taken an extra look at, if you have 8 monitors for your menu, simply add an extra one for numbers, maybe even ask for names, your un-masked head chef screaming numbers randomly just really creates a chaotic vibe that seems very off-brand.

Having paid $34 for a breakfast burrito and two smoothies, waiting 25 minutes and seeing numerous other customers in the same boat, confused and complaining. Perhaps would recommend if time is not of the essence. But for someone looking to get a quick lunch,...
