The staff at Manuela's Cakery is incredibly friendly and welcoming. It's clear they love what they do, and their passion shines through in every interaction. One of the most memorable moments for me was meeting the owner. My partner had an amazing discussion with her about Hungary, her family ties, and all the wonderful things about their homeland not excluding the difference in cherries. It was a heartwarming albeit emotional experience that added a personal touch to our visit.
The atmosphere of the bakery is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to indulge in a treat or two. Read moreMy sweet husband just surprised me with cake! (Delivery)
I’ve never been here, so might as well review these 3 slices as I’m eating them (trying them all in one sitting)
First, I prefer real whipped cream, and from the color of the rolled one, I already know it isn’t real cream. So the rolled one tastes like pistachio with a very tiny bit of raspberry and some of the cream tastes cream cheesey ( cream cheese was nice but -1 for fake whipped cream) Carrot cake has a not cream cheesey frosting (-1) (tastes like cheap gritty frosting) the cake itself is basic, not overly spiced or moist or special Finally, the multi-layered cake is new for me. The caramel top is hard and crispy, each layer is sandwiched with some cream/frosting, but not really sure what flavor it’s going for (doesn’t taste like caramel or chocolate -1), the cake layers themself taste kinda dry/stale (no idea what it’s supposed to be).
As someone who bakes, loves sweets and baked goods, I would not come back here for cake. The cakes are not moist or well flavoured, I think I could get better at a grocery store (I’d prefer not though). It’s cute to look at but lacking that oomph for the price or calories.
Oh, my daughter just had a bite of the layered one (she also can’t tell what flavor it is but she likes it) so it’s kid friendly, I wouldn’t get it if you’re an adult...
Read moreI took a friend to Manuela's Cakery for dessert to celebrate her birthday yesterday. We tried several desserts, my favorites being a cross between the salted caramel cake/cheesecake and the pistachio cream roll. We also had a triple-layered lemon cake (her favorite), multi layered hazel nut dessert that was most decadent, a million square and another hazel nut dessert. They did not disappoint. We also picked up some cheese biscuits and bacon biscuits for her to take home and another slice of the salted caramel dessert as that got devoured. Prices are a bit higher than some may like to pay, but you will not be disappointed as the quality of these desserts is worth every cent. The husband and wife that own and run the bakery as well as do all the baking themselves are so friendly. We had a great chat with them before we left and I will be back again. Give this place a try. A selection of teas and coffees as well a some very fine looking croissants sandwiches made in house are also available. In the word's of Arnold,...
