My sweet husband just surprised me with cake! (Delivery) I’ve never been here, so might as well review these 3 slices as I’m eating them (trying them all in one sitting) First, I prefer real whipped cream, and from the color of the rolled one, I already know it isn’t real cream. So the rolled one tastes like pistachio with a very tiny bit of raspberry and some of the cream tastes cream cheesey ( cream cheese was nice but -1 for fake whipped cream) Carrot cake has a not cream cheesey frosting (-1) (tastes like cheap gritty frosting) the cake itself is basic, not overly spiced or moist or special Finally, the multi-layered cake is new for me. The caramel top is hard and crispy, each layer is sandwiched with some cream/frosting, but not really sure what flavor it’s going for (doesn’t taste like caramel or chocolate -1), the cake layers themself taste kinda dry/stale (no idea what it’s supposed to be). As someone who bakes, loves sweets and baked goods, I would not come back here for cake. The cakes are not moist or well flavoured, I think I could get better at a grocery store (I’d prefer not though). It’s cute to look at but lacking that oomph for the price or calories. Oh, my daughter just had a bite of the layered one (she also can’t tell what flavor it is but she likes it) so it’s kid friendly, I wouldn’t get it if you’re an adult foodie though.

We decided to give this bakery a second chance after a not-so-great first visit, hoping it was just a one-off experience. Unfortunately, our second visit was worse. We ordered a chocolate roll cake that tasted stale and off. It had a strange aftertaste, and the texture suggested it wasn’t fresh at all. When we politely mentioned this to the staff, the response was surprisingly dismissive and a bit rude. We were told the cake was fresh and that maybe it just “tasted that way” because it had just come out of the fridge and had cheesecake frosting—which wasn’t accurate. The taste and texture were not what you'd expect from a freshly made product, and the way our concern was handled left a bad impression. The cake tasted so unpleasant we couldn’t even take another bite, and ended up leaving it uneaten. We really wanted to like this place, but after two disappointing visits and poor customer service, we won’t be returning.

Initially, I was looking for the bread that I once liked in the country of my birth. Neither in the previous country nor in this one I didn't see such bread in the large stores, so this bakery was recommended to me by a local family. Today I tried their fresh bread, and yes I liked the taste and its density(except that for my taste I would put a little less salt). But besides the bread, my wife and I were here yesterday and we tried their cake, coffee and hot chocolate. I will say that both of us liked it and we surely can recommend this place to others. The prices, in my opinion, are normal for a small establishment with an emphasis on tasty + nicely done confectionery and pastries, especially if you come just to sit and drink tea/coffee in a pleasant atmosphere of a small place. There are also very friendly workers and owners here :)

Manuelas Cakery in Bedford, Nova Scotia, is an absolute gem! This wonderful little bakery specializes in truly amazing and scrumptious Hungarian treats that are sure to make any sweet tooth dance with joy. If you're anything like me and have a serious weakness for sweets, this place will hit all the marks and then some!

The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the delightful aroma of freshly baked goodies. They have a delightful selection of Hungarian treats, but that's just the beginning. The wide range of delectable treats and fabulous meals they offer for you to take home is simply impressive. It's not just about Hungarian delights; there's something for everyone here, from pastries to hearty meals.

The staff at Manuela's Cakery is incredibly friendly and welcoming. It's clear they love what they do, and their passion shines through in every interaction. One of the most memorable moments for me was meeting the owner. My partner had an amazing discussion with her about Hungary, her family ties, and all the wonderful things about their homeland not excluding the difference in cherries. It was a heartwarming albeit emotional experience that added a personal touch to our visit.

The atmosphere of the bakery is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to indulge in a treat or two. Whether you're grabbing a quick snack or picking up a meal to take home, you'll leave with a smile on your face. If you've got a bit of a sweet tooth, this is definitely the place that will satiate your cravings and leave you coming back for more.

Manuela's Cakery is more than just a bakery; it's a place where you can enjoy delicious food, warm hospitality, and a little slice of Hungarian culture. If you're in Bedford, Nova Scotia, don't miss out on this delightful spot. Your taste buds...

I took a friend to Manuela's Cakery for dessert to celebrate her birthday yesterday. We tried several desserts, my favorites being a cross between the salted caramel cake/cheesecake and the pistachio cream roll. We also had a triple-layered lemon cake (her favorite), multi layered hazel nut dessert that was most decadent, a million square and another hazel nut dessert. They did not disappoint. We also picked up some cheese biscuits and bacon biscuits for her to take home and another slice of the salted caramel dessert as that got devoured. Prices are a bit higher than some may like to pay, but you will not be disappointed as the quality of these desserts is worth every cent. The husband and wife that own and run the bakery as well as do all the baking themselves are so friendly. We had a great chat with them before we left and I will be back again. Give this place a try. A selection of teas and coffees as well a some very fine looking croissants sandwiches made in house are also available. In the word's of Arnold,...
