It saddens me when I have to write any negative review about a business. 😢
While the food and service were great and prices are reasonable considering all businesses have made an increase. The cleanliness needs a huge overhaul. A brown substance on the bathroom wall (bathrooms in any business should be checked on at least once an hour to ensure they are in very presentable condition for their patrons) toilet tissue severely lacking, the only hand towel to use in the dispenser was soiled, and the ceiling fans in the common area are so thickly coated with dust and grease that when they have them running it can only spread this around on ones food, most of the seats torn, gum from disrespectful customers stuck to the underside of the tables and garbage in the window wells. With things limited for dining over the period of heavy COVID restrictions, the deep cleaning could easily have been taken care of then (which should be done quarterly anyhow). Leaves one wondering if the only thing that's thought about is the profit to be made on any given day. I'll wait awhile then give them another chance. Hopefully they will take the necessary time and rectify all these issues. This once was a very nice restaurant several years ago. Hopefuly they will clean it up and show the care they once had for the place. I'd love to be able to then give them a perfect review...
Read moreIve been a local resident and long time patron of JB's...been away a bit due to Covid and allthough they can be hit and miss in quality I went in for breakfast the other day and was served some kind of garbage akin to dog food. I had ordered a eggs lightly basted with a meat patty (which was historically tasty) but the meat smelt gamy before it passed my lips and the flavor and texture was just disgusting! and I refused to eat it. The eggs were over cooked as well. The place was near empty so I guess the cook was just disinterested in cooking to order. The waitress assured me that the patties were just made the day before and I assured here that I recognized sub grade meat when I see it or taste it. If I take her at her word, which I did, it means that the owner decided to source cheap meat from god knows where. Whoever prepped and cooked it (the owner I believe) obviously knew that they were buying, prepping and serving sub par ground beef...probably not even legally processed or sold!
So what grade is all the rest of the food if they are buying and serving up meat unfit for human consumption? And what kind of people are you giving your money to if they are serving you such cheap junk? Kindof makes you think! I dont trust em and...
Read moreI stopped in for breakfast at the 118 ave location as I was craving shredded hash browns. I ordered the breakfast special, two pork sausages , two eggs toast and shredded hash browns. The waitress was very friendly. When I got my food the sausages were not very good. The hash browns tasted like were cooked the day before and reheated several times as they were hard, rubbery and gross and I did not finish eating them. I ordered soft poached eggs and these were a little to soft. Maybe my fault for not clarifying what soft meant but this is how I order from other restaurants, lots of yoke, no white slime. I was almost finished eating my toast when the waitress finally came with my first and only coffee refill and asked how it was. I told her , "Not very good" and told her the hash browns were gross. She offered to replace them but I said no . She did take the price of the coffee off of the meal to make up for it. She again offered to give me cubed hash browns to go but again I said no, as I just did not feel like eating cold hash browns when I arrived to work. I used to eat here a long time ago and think I even posted a good review but after this I think I will eat elsewhere. I have eaten at the 127 st location and had no...
