I've lived in Beverly since 2015. I've been a PH chain customer since the early 2000s & it's very disappointing to have a PH so close to home that serves such a poor product, being one of the largest pizza chains in North America. And because of this, I can bite my tongue no longer about this very poorly ran PH!
I live approximately 90 seconds by car from this PH location. The quality has been so lacking that I drive to the Hollyrood location near Boonie Doon which is 15-20 mins away. 30-40 mins rnd trip.
First few yrs the za / product from this PH was good to great. Since sometime in 2018 the za from this location has been average in quality, at best! Every once (about once every yr) in awhile I'll order something to see if they have corrected their quality control.
Tonight I decided to try one of the pizza melts & things again have not improved since the last time I ordered. As you can see from the photo the crust is over cooked & burnt in spots. In addition, I'm 97% percent sure it was reheated for my order. I had to microwave it for over a minute so to soften it enough to only end up eating half of one of the slices. The best part of this meal, or lack thereof, was the marinara dipping sauce! Good thing I had leftovers from lunch to eat!
I believe when you go out or order takeout that the feeling, 9 out of 10 times, should be that you want to go back & get more immediately or to plan a visit again soon after the visit. This PH's location service & product produces quite the opposite of this unfortunately!
I suggest finding an alternative for take out in this area if you're thinking about Pizza. Perhaps try the Donair Lovers which is kitty corner from the Shoppers drug mart on 118, as they make great food! The people there are always very friendly & will go out of there way to make sure their customers are satisfied with the experience & the product they...
Read moreOrdered 2 large pizzas with extra toppings online for $40. They never came so I called the store and they didn't get the order. So I placed the order again and when I hung up the online order showed up. So I told the delivery guy that I reordered and I wanted fresh pizza. He said no problem, sorry he was late and left. Then the store manager called and asked if I still wanted my pizzas. I told him yes as long as it was fresh and hot. He said yes, two fresh pizzas will be there in 20 minutes. I told him I would tip his driver well for the trouble. So 20 minutes later the same driver showed up and said here you are, two fresh hot pizzas. So I tipped him $5 plus a buck and cange from the $40. He grabbed the money and practically ran to his car. Once I opened the box I knew why. Two stone cold pizzas, and not even what I originally ordered. I called the store and they would not answer. I called the head office and they said they would look into it and get back to me. They never did. I changed locations but had to pick it up and that location gave me two skimpy pizzas for a premium price. Now I make my own pizza, tired of wasting $40 on...
Read moreThe people working the register seemed rather friendly. Although it's a little difficult to hear what they say with all the background noise going on.
I had their pizza before - I ordered it - but I was not impressed, the crust was paper thin, barely had any toppings or sauce, it more less just had the taste of a salty piece of bread making their prices pretty much nothing short of a form of legal robbery.
I went in today, and suffice to say I'm glad to see things have changed in terms of food quality. Their prices are still a little up there though, and the overall food quality in general - even with the improvement - does not help justify them at all. Honestly, I've had better food for quite a bit less. Although it may also be who's on shift at the given time as well.
All in all this establishment isn't too bad. This experience I had wasn't bad either, the food tastes like pizza and not salty bread.
I'd give it a 3/5. Mostly because the prices vs food quality is off balance, the place is rather noisy, and the preparation time...
