ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. We decided to have breakfast here with the family and in-laws on Saturday morning at around 9 am. I was a little skeptical as there was only one other couple in there at the time of our arrival. (Every other breakfast restaurant had a line-up out the door).
We sat ourselves and no one came to see us for about 15 minutes.
When the waitress arrived she was extremely nice and apologized for the wait. We gave her out drink orders and she got them for us very quickly. We gave our food orders when she finished handing out the drinks.
After 25 minutes our food arrived. Disgusting to say the least. My oldest child ordered chicken fingers, he bit into it and it was not only cold in the centre but pinkish and a weird stringy taste. I ordered an Avocado and Bacon eggs Benedict and my daughter ordered an Avocado and tomato egg Benedict. Not only was both dishes colder then a fridge, it wasn't Avocado but a cheap version of guacamole. The hollandaise sauce was like dried on paint. Next my mother in-law ordered simple French toast. Not only did it come out cold, but it was dry as hell. My father in law ordered blueberry pancakes...well, it didn't come out at all. Waitress must have forgotten to order those.
We told the waitress our problem with all or food. She made a total 360⁰ and gave us attitude. We were completely cool with it. Just asked for an order of plain pancakes between my daughter and myself, my mother in law asked for fresh French toast and my son didn't want anything anymore as he was disgusted.
Food came out that we ordered. The pancakes were under-cooked but we ate them anyways. Lol.
Anyways, fast-forward to the end (waitress completely ignores us now the entire time, even though we told her we understand it's not her fault), we receive the bill and all the food that we didn't eat is on it. So we flagged down the waitress and told her of the mistake and she said "well, we didn't add the pancakes", I replied with "I will pay for everything that we ate, but not what was given back". She in turn had this most angry face imaginable and turned away and left. Came back a short time later and threw the bill on the table. Anyways we paid (left her a tip still) and left.
Found out later the owners make their staff pay for any mistakes that the kitchen makes or the servers make. Completely disgusting. Mind you, this is all hear-say from other around town. However, we believe it looking at how the owner was at the cash register the whole time and never left to check on the little customers they actually had.
I wish I could give this establishment negative stars. Will never recommend...
Read moreAfter running some Sunday errands, my husband, kids, and I were looking for a nice place to grab brunch. We initially planned to go to Stacked Pancake House, but it was so busy that there was no parking, and the restaurant was already packed. We decided to go to Daybreak instead, and I’m so glad we did!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and told to sit wherever we liked. The restaurant was clean and cozy, and the staff were very welcoming.
The food was absolutely delicious, and the owner—who was also cooking—was incredibly friendly and accommodating. He noticed that our 2-year-old was getting restless while waiting our meals to arrive and kindly brought her a small plate of home fries to keep her happy.
It was clear that this was a wonderful little family-run business. The owner's wife gave chocolates to our kids while we paid our bill, and their daughter was serving tables. You could tell it was her first job and that she was still learning, but she did a great job and got everything right with no mistakes. The only small suggestion I would make is for her to check on the tables after serving them, as she forgot to do so. Her mother did notice this and asked us if we would like more coffee and tea.
What really stood out was how involved the owner was—not only was he cooking, but he also made time to check on the tables, personally asking guests how their meals were. His attentiveness and warm personality is what made it such a great experience.
Overall, delicious food, kind and attentive service, and a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. We made sure to tip generously and we will definitely be back for another Sunday...
Read moreI usually don't write low reviews, but after visiting Daybreak I regret spending my money there and will memorably have a low quality experience there. I encourage my friends and family to instead visit other places locally that can provide you with much better quality and service.
I am leaving two stars for the benefit of the doubt that I visited on a "bad" day, since they were the few restaurants open on New Years Day.
On the day I visited, they were not incredibly busy (as there were a few tables still empty). But I typically don't mind wait times. But when they exceed a total of 35 minutes after ordering, I was starting to think they forgot about my order.
Now, thankfully the whole table didn't have to wait.. only half the table did! I had the privilege of waiting an extra 15 minutes after the other three people at my table had their food and starting eating before the rest of us did.
Even better, they almost finished their food by the time we received ours! Great! Maybe it's worth the wait.. nope. It did not taste fresh and was if it was thrown in the microwave for a minute (especially the homefries).
I only had three bites before I decided to just leave it instead of becoming sick.
Highly do not recommend Daybreak to anyone looking for great service and food. Otherwise, its a great...
