Minho Restaurant & Catering — Restaurant in Bradford West Gwillimbury

I went here once about 2 years ago and had a francesinha and I didn’t like it. I decided since some of my friends wanted to go here to give it a second chance and it was the same experience as the first time. The service is terrible they always seem to be in a rush and never actually listen, while the wait times for the food is moderate but they don’t have any etiquettecy and manner when serving the food, when ordering the same dish you will see two completely different platters. The same dishes vary so much and they can’t even remember the requests for the people at the same table confusing mine and a friends steaks when we ordered different temperatures. The prices are the same you would get for going to any other Portugese restaurant though a little bit higher than average but the quality of the food is lacklustre, no flavour, undercooked, just awful quality. The servers being rude is just the end of it for me since they are always correcting you making you feel wrong and rush so that you don’t get a chance in at anything. If I could review with no stars I would. First time i went to this place and it will be my last. Took the family there (2 couples and 1 baby) for lunch on Sunday, made reservations for 2pm , we got there and went to our table , waiter put bread on table with no butter or anything to go with it, 20 min later he shows up to get us some drinks and to place order for the food, 2h went by and we only had gotten appetizer, we tried getting waiters attention but if felt like he was ignoring us , people were coming in and out and we still had no food. 3 familys sitting around us got there after us and left before we could even eat. When we finally got the waiters attention we asked him how much longer will the food take since we've been waiting for 2 hours , he said pls give me another 5 to 10 min. Another 20 min went by and no food. Asked for bill and left. I shouldn't even had paid for the appetizer and the drink we had. Left there at 4.30pm with no food, my one year old baby cranky from waiting for so long and just ended up going to McDonald's. This place will never see me again, they only pay attention to regulars....

My partner and I were really looking forward to having dinner at Minho. This was going to be our first dining experience in Bradford, a town that we'll be visiting a few times a year, and on the whole the reviews made it sound like a lovely little restaurant. However, we had such an unpleasant experience there, that we most definitely won't be coming back. For one thing, the overpriced food was mediocre (the cuttlefish was way over-salted, and the cod was way undercooked), and for another we were greeted frostily by the gentleman who led us to our table and brought us our bill. (And who gave us a frosty look as we were leaving.) Moreover, without requesting them, we were served bread, olives, and ham, which we assumed were on the house. Instead, we got charged $8 for them. And although our server was quite nice (and certainly much nicer than her co-worker/boss), she seemed visibly unhappy, which only added to the unpleasant strangeness of the experience.
