Balista is truly a gem for anyone seeking a flavorful and unique dining experience with a wide variety of pure vegetarian fusion dishes. Whether you're vegan, Jain, or follow Swaminarayan dietary preferences, this café has thoughtfully curated options for everyone, making it an inclusive space for diverse dietary needs.
I recently had the pleasure of trying an assortment of their offerings, and I must say, the food was exceptional in both quality and taste. Here's a breakdown of the items I indulged in:
Tandoori Smokey Momos These momos were a brilliant fusion of traditional dumplings with a smoky tandoori twist. The outer layer was perfectly crisp, while the filling was flavorful and generously spiced. The smokey flavor added a distinct touch, making it a must-try for momo lovers.
Peri Peri Fries & Veg Loaded Fries The Peri Peri Fries were packed with just the right amount of spicy kick, making them a delightful snack. On the other hand, the Veg Loaded Fries were a hearty, savory treat, loaded with cheese, veggies, and seasoning. Both were a perfect accompaniment to any meal.
Veg Club Sandwich & Chipotle Sandwich Both sandwiches were fresh, with the perfect balance of crunch and flavor. The Veg Club Sandwich was packed with veggies and had a wholesome, layered taste, while the Chipotle Sandwich had a smoky, slightly spicy kick that I absolutely loved. The bread was perfectly toasted, enhancing the overall texture and taste.
Pink Pasta & Paneer Makhni Pasta The Pink Pasta was creamy, rich, and had a subtle tang from the tomato base. It was deliciously indulgent. The Paneer Makhni Pasta, however, was a unique standout. The fusion of the classic Paneer Makhni flavors with pasta worked surprisingly well, delivering an exciting blend of Italian and Indian cuisines.
Assorted Garlic Breads Garlic bread is a classic side, but Balista took it up a notch with their assorted variety. Each version had a different topping, and all were perfectly baked with a soft inside and crispy edges. The garlic flavor was well-balanced, making them a great side to the pasta dishes.
Mango Milkshake, Chiku Milkshake & Cold Coffee The Mango Milkshake was a fruity delight, thick and full of fresh mango flavor. The Chiku Milkshake had a subtle sweetness, refreshing and smooth, while the Cold Coffee was rich, perfectly brewed, and a refreshing companion for the meal.
Jamun Shots To end the meal, I tried the Jamun Shots also known as Atma Tripti Shots, which were a tangy, refreshing surprise. These shots were an excellent palate cleanser, and the unique flavor of jamun added an exciting finish to the meal.
Overall, Balista stands out for its wide variety of fusion dishes, catering to different tastes and dietary preferences. The attention to detail in flavor combinations and the quality of ingredients used are evident in every bite. The ambiance of the café is cozy, and the staff is courteous and attentive, making the overall dining experience even more enjoyable.
Whether you're in the mood for something spicy, tangy, or creamy, Balista’s menu offers it all with a unique twist. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for flavorful, pure vegetarian fusion cuisine with plenty of options...
Read moreBalista Restaurant" is the name itself enough to make someone curious. I heard of ballistic missiles and Dave Bautista, the legendary boxer. And i think here they come with the fusion of both hot blasting🔥🧨🥵 and strong💪 flavors in Indian food items like snacks and beverages.
We ordered some of the popular items like "Spicy Jumbo Double Decker," "Balista Special Burger," "Shahi Paneer Burger," "Peri Peri fries," "Tandoori Paneer Club Sandwich," and "Jamun Shot(4shots)".
"Spicy Jumbo Double Decker" was doing justice with its making and pleasing the customer at its best with the blast of spicy sauce, grilled cottage cheese patty, and sesame seeds bun Overall, I will suggest this burger to those who love to eat spicy burgers. I enjoyed it more than any other item.
"Balista Special Burger" was good, but it was a bit dry due to hummus in it. Normal Spice level, and they can add some sauce to it to make it more juicy.
"Alfredo White Sauce Pasta" was neither so good or so bad. But its sauce was having a perfect blend of herbs and spices. Pasta was, and veggies were both cooked well. Also, it was a good dish to make your mouth cool after eating the spicy burger or peri peri fries.
"Peri-Peri Fries," the best fusion of potato fries and peri peri spice. The fries were crunchy and coated uniformly. Not so oily and quantity was satisfying. Overall, it was nice.
"Tandoori Paneer Club Sandwich"- Nice presentation, nice sauce garnish, 2 layers with good fillings. But, I think they can work on their quantity. It was a quality dish but not worth $11.99. Even the potato chips quantity was a little bit. And they can add come sauces or chutney. They were serving only ketchup with everything.
"Shahi Paneer Burger"- it was the combination of Indian cottage cheese curry and American burger. But, it's an innovation on a foreign soil, which shows indian curry at another level. Taste was satisfying and perfectly blending with a burger.
"Jamun Shots"- a natural black plum or purple plum juice, many names but most liked taste amongst Indians. In addition, summer makes its drinking more often and obvious at the end of the spicy food or evening walk drink. It also has some natural benefits. The presentation can be more attractive, and they can work on their trays look by putting a brand logo or making...
Read moreHaving marked this spot and we were in BTown so decided to check this out. The inside is super clean and spotless. The service is amazing and customer satisfaction is their top goal. Although you may be asked to upsize your order.
They are vegan friendly so that’s a plus and many items they adjust to make it vegan.
Vegetable Cheese Sandwich-Although the menu does not include potatoes in this Mumbai street food sandwich, we missed the humble potato in this sandwich. The chutney not too spicy. The sandwich stacked not too high as it usually is. The processed cheese slice would have been better replaced by real shredded cheese
Schezwan Paneer Burger-The olive addition does not go well with a Hakka Chinese Indian burger with an Mediterranean topping. The processed cheese also needs to be replaced. The spice level perfect. The burger overall good, but still would have been better if was bigger or stacked higher for the price.
Tangy Wrap-veganized. The wrap very tasty, but not filling for a person like me. The size was disappointing and needs more fillings to make more filling.
Regular and PeriPerri Fries-perfect in every way. Perfectly fried with a nice crunch and fresh. The peeri peeri spice amazing touch.
Jamun Shots-Four shot glasses and a unique drink that is perhaps not available at very limited places. It tasted as if you were drinking pulp of the black jamun (plum). The salt on the rim is...
